I am thinking about getting the synvisc injections for my knee.  I got the steroid injection the end of Janurary and it's already hurting just like it was before I even had the injection.  I DO NOT want to have a knee replacement so I am trying anything and everything to avoid it.  Any thoughts on synvisc???

Thanks,
~Angie

Angie, Syncisc will most likely help if the steriods didn't.  Its thick more like what's naturally in your knee joint.  I had a couple injections of that after my knee scope it really helped me. Hopefully it will help you also.   I hope you get to feeling better.  ;)

Hey girl, I hate shots and I don't do them unless I just have too.  I used this stuff from Wally world, it's called turpentine oil and it took the swelling out of my knee and everything,...it's cheap.  Won't cost over $5 and if it helps you might be able to put off knee surgery.
Love you Marylin

yes i had the synvisc injections in my knees the first round of 3 worked and helped a lot , i guess becasue my knees both of them were so bad....after 6 months i went back to have it repeated and didnt seem to help at all...so have had right knee replaced , will have left one done as soon as summer is over this year....meant to last winter...
You might try Glucosamine Chondrotitin with MSM, they have it in pills and in liquids...my Ortho doc swears by the liquids , i just cant take any sort of liquid meds if they are the least bit nasty.. just wont go down for me...anyway, they have done clinical studies and it has been proven that it does grow back some of the cartlidge if it isnt completly bone against bone as mine ...
hope you get some relief i know how badly the knees hurt...im there with you ...the ortho doc says there is no way i should be able to walk with mine . But i do. lol dont know if that is stuborness or just dumb

I had the injections but I had bone on bone so it didn't help me but it does help some people. It s three injections a week apart. I would give it a try before I concidered surgery.
