Someone explane Please!!
Corrine...
I'm sorry that you are having such a problem right now. I went through a period kinda like what you are having and it had everything to do with how my body was "shifting gears" and learning how to stabilize it's own blood sugar regulation.
I found that foods that normally would not cause an issue suddenly did. I also found out that sometimes the temperature of the food that you are eating somehow enhances the "effect" (weird huh?).
I shifted gears to several (and I mean several) mini mini meals of protein. A bite here or a bite there. Sip here, sip there. Nothing much at one time. Didn't want to rock the boat. It seemed to work too.
Also note that as you loose weight and your body shifts gears that sometimes you are prone to periods such as this. You think, "what the???" as you think you have this eating thing down pat and then suddenly your body changes the rules.
Also be very vigilant about not just the sugar content gram wise but also the sugar alcohols. You can have a low sugar count and still have some pretty hefty sugar alcohols that are hiding. They can truly wreck havoc on some folks.
Another product that I used with great success was UNJURY. It comes in a multitude of flavors -- even chicken broth!... it completely rocked it for me where countless others failed miserably.
I just wish that you would feel better though..... hang in there though!
btw I am working on 5 years since my RNY... holding my own and still dodging the little twists that the old bod throws my way still to this day!

Anything WORTH having is WORTH working for !
Thank you Pix...
Im really at a loss for what to do....makes me wonder if I have a bug or something....when I eat my cheese cubes they dont bother me or my chicken or turkey strips....but just now I ate a SF choc pudding and my pouch is saying " oh hell no".... now I have eatten them for the last couple of nights now...and tonight its a no go!!
I have checked the protein mix....its the Max protein from GNC and everything seems ok as far as sugars.
I do think that now I afraid to eat anything and its in my mind all the time...so maybe I could be bring it on...but then again I sure dont want to have to be in the bathroom evertime that I eat something either. I have noticed that I do eat a little too fast at times...like with soft food and liquids...maybe thats where Im going wrong...will work on that starting tomorrow...
Anyway....thanks for the info on the body adjusting....that could be whats going on...will have to wait and see how the next few weeks go....
Love and hugs...

You might of just given yourself the answer..... are you seeing that denser proteins that aren't call "sliders" aren't giving you the issues, but anything that is rapidly emptying into your gut is? Hmmmmmmmm sounds like you might of hit the nail on the head.
When I started having my problems with my blood sugar destabilizing (this was several years postop) I couldn't fathom what was going on. My PCP told me that my body was still in the process of finding it's way of regulating itself. Why me I asked? She said that sometimes those who are having sugar issues to begin with ( I was NOT a diabetic but I WAS insulin resistant) presurgery....well that it could preclude someone dealing with destabilization later on.
She best described it to me this way. Some folks are seriously diabetic presurgery. They have the surgery and loose a ton of weight and suddenly some are greatly reducing their Insulin or other diabetes meds and some even cut it out completely. Then down the road (sometimes months or even years) they suddenly find themselves having to take the medication again. Maybe not in the same quantities but still have to take it nevertheless.
In these folks does that mean that this surgery was a failure? Nope. Does it only occur in those cases where folks have regained a bunch of weight? No necessarily either. It has to do with the body mechanism for regulating the blood sugar.
So what might that mean for you if this is indeed the case? If your body is trying to find that middle ground on stabilization and you put foods in it that slip right on down the tract (so to speak) then you are overwhelming a process that is in a state of flux at the time. It is having an issue anyway and the slider foods are overburdening it even more... and you know what happens then... BLLLLLLAAAAAARFORAMA.... unfortunately.
Again I don't know if this is indeed the case with you but it sure sounds an awful lot like what I dealt with for a time ...... I thought to myself when I was facing it... OK>>> wtH you know? I had to go back to foods that were more dense that would allow for a slower introduction into my gut. Also coupled with several mini mini mini meals. It eventually helped and stopped the horrid feelings of dumping.
Hope that this might help you out some. I just feel so badly that you are having a struggle right now. Dumping is a horrid feeling.

Hi ya Pix...
You know I think that your right about the slider thing....
today I went back to the way I way eating right after surgery....And "Nothing".....felt good all day...other than a headache that wont go away..lol I even had a protein bar, that made me dump last week Tues.
I had ran out of food that I had brought with me for work and got that hunger feeling....which I dont usually get at all....so I figured oh well I will try it again...this time though I ate it in about a 2 1/2 hour time frame instead of a hour...and I did fine....strange huh?
So what do your recomend I do about the protein....Im not going to get enough in food wise...and that does scare me...Im already weak and dont have alot of energy left after working just 8hrs....
Again thanks for staying with me on this....I know that I may have not started out right....but at least Im trying to make it right....I just dont want to be sick all the time....thats one of the things that scare me about haveing this surgery.....
Thanks again...
