This morning I read on the OH newletter via email. I like this newletter. One of the articles was about who to tell that you have had WLS. Some of it I agree with but, for me. I like to share my excitment with others. I dont go out of my way to tell ppl but I do if I have an overweight friend who brings up dieting first. Usually they ask me if I would do it all over again. My reponse is: I would do it again in a heartbeat. Every person that I tell that too either goes and gets the WLS or thinks strongly about it for future means of losing weight. We need to get the word out to obese people to help them out. Not everyone is able to have the surgery but I feel like Iam in aiding in saving someones life when I do tell them. Over the last two and half years I have probably had at least five people join us on the bench. They see how good Im doing and they have to do it too. So you see telling someone is a good thing. God Bless Craig

Someone told me about theirs and thats what got me thinking about it. I am so glad they did. I would do it again . I am very happy with my RNY. I told everyone about it even before the surgery. I saw no reason not to. I am not ashamed of it.

Clearly it's an individual choice - but I'm not particularly worried about telling people.  I feel the same way about my diabetes.  I'm really quite open to those who are interested in learning more about the experience.  Truthfully, I worry more about people getting bored with me talking about it!
