Mark really stuck out with me today, being amazed at the crowds that follow Jesus, the ones that believed in Him and had the true faith that He could heal them and make them whole.  It was almost like he was as celebrity, it said that Jesus and His apostles hardly had time to get a bite to eat that when the people would hear He was close or in town they’d flock to Him wanting to be delivered or healed.

I just loved Psalms this morning, it really spoke to me, it was like each verse was pointing out something, well it was,  saying Be strong in the Lord, Trust the Lord, Commit to the Lord, be still in the Presence of the Lord,  there’s a pattern going on there that really spoke to me.

And then there is Proverbs, esp verse 4 the lazy go hungry.  Not only physically hungry but spiritually hungry.  If we don’t do what we are suppose to do spiritually, Be strong, Trust, Be still, Be in His presence, we will starve spiritually.

The devotionals have really been ministering lately and today’s is no exception.  It’s pretty much just a continuation of what they have been talking about the last week or so, seems they give us one tidbit at a time.  Today’s really hit home and was something I needed to hear, putting the old behind me, forgetting what I’ve gone through in the past, letting the disappointments and failures stay in the past instead of bring them up all the time and not letting them get in the way of our growth because they will if we let them.   Its time to get new wine skins so to speak and fill them up with the new wine and move forward to better and higher things.  God has so much for us if we only take the time to realize it.

***Bec*** I know what ya mean about Proverbs going from Discipline to wisdom.  I guess for me I had to get a hold of discipline first before I could get any type of wisdom, discipline for me has been so tough, I dunno why but it has, but now that I’ve on top of the discipline the wisdom seems so absorb into my spirit much better, like we’ve said before, this year is such a growing year for me, I think I’ve grown spiritually more in the last couple months then I have for years, thanks to the Lord.

Daily Devotional

Mark 2:22
"And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins"

Are you ready for increase? Are you ready to go to the next level, spiritually, physically, and emotionally? In this passage of scripture, Jesus is basically saying that you can’t go to a new level with an old way of thinking. Many people hear the truth that God has more in store and something resonates on the inside. Their spirit comes into agreement with God, but often times, the natural mind will try to talk them out of it. Thoughts will come like, "It's not going to happen for you. You’re not going to have a great year. You know what the economy is like." Or, "You're never going to get well. You saw what the medical report said." "You're never going to get married. You've been single so long."

Friend, those are the old wineskins that you have to get rid of. This is a new season. What's happened in the past is over and done. You may have been through some disappointments, you may have tried and failed, or things didn't work out. That's okay. God is still in control. It's time to get a new vision for your life. It's time to open yourself to a new way of thinking so that you can receive all the blessings God has in store for you!

Today's thought: Today I choose to get rid of old wineskins. I choose to release old thinking, old habits, and anything that would keep me from being my best.

Andy Psalms is one of my favorite books of all. i guess cause it is so faith assuring....my favorite chapter of all is 121  it has been my verses i go to in times of need or worry...  he says he will not let my foot slip and the big one for me is that the one tha****ches over you never slumbers. so i can sleep and rest and know that God has my back....The Lord will keep you from all harm, both now and forecermore...wow...
i know todays verses werent these but i just had to share why i finally realized that worry was stupid and learned to really give everything to the Lord....it is one of the hardest things i think most people have a hard time doiing....to give him our burdens and LEAVE THEM THERE.  once you get the hang of it i. s easy and wonder why in the world did it take me so long.. wish i could have been where i am now when i was younger ...
