A very important vitamin for nerves and well being. Doc said you could take it daily or get monthly shots. I take the little ones that melt under your tongue and have had one shot. If you are not getting any extra you should start.

I take the rexall brand sublingual 2x a day, it is 2500 mg . I think 2x a day may be overkill, but better be safe than sorry, anyway I think it may be cheaper than having to pay for gas and dr visit every month. If/when you do go for the injection, maybe you could ask if the sublingual is as effective as the injection, i'd like to know myself, ive heard pos-and neg. good luck  susan  ps the sublingual is grape and tastes really good...candy....ummm lol

Susie's right....b12 is very important and most people don't realize the nerve damage the lack of it can cause.  Very serious!  I take the sublingual and don't have to take the shots.  I would recommend using those, too.  That way if you are a little late on the shots you should be ok.

Ok, I have to throw my two cents in on this one.  The B-12 is very important as I learned the hard way.  You will start to feel rundown without it.  I, on the other hand take the shots.  Seems like everyone else does the pills.  I just have my husband give them to me.  I think he gets some kind of thrill by causing me pain! Anyway, hurts for a minute and then it's done for the month!!

On the shots, you don't have to go to the dr for them.  Your dr can call them into the pharmacy and you get them and do them yourself each month.  I was doing the shots until I switched my multi vitamins and they now come with enough B-12 that I do not have to take anything extra.  Check out the celebrate brand.  I can tolerate pills and I get a 3 month supply with shipping costs for 40 bucks!

Too much B-12 can be harmful...I think to your liver is what I was told.  Because at one point I wanted to make sure I got enough so I was doing the shots and the ones that melt in your mouth 2500.  That was way too much.  My NUT said those ones should only be taken 2 times a week.
