Daily Bible Reading - Sunday Feb. 15th
Once again I sit here as the Lord really hits me with the Proverbs today. It’s again about wisdom. Do you think the Lord is trying to tell us something about wisdom? Proverbs 9:11 “ For through me your days will be many and years will be added to your life" Verse 12 “If you are wise your wisdom will reward you, if you are a mocker you alone will suffer" Living our lives through the Lord and keeping Wisdom close to our hearts and not avoiding it we will live long and prosper. The Lords wisdom is there for the taking, using it will only make us stronger and successful, not taking heed to Gods wisdom will only make us suffer according to verse 12. I know for me its been hard to take His wisdom and apply it to my life but its also been so rewarding. He only gives us His wisdom because He loves us so much and wants us to be as successful and we can be. Taking God’s wisdom in our lives will only make us better. Wisdom is there for the taking if only we would pick it up and run with it. Thank You Lord for the wisdom you give us to be the most successful we can be.

Proverbs 20:3
Avoiding a fight is mark of honor."
Not every battle is worth fighting. Many of the challenges that come our way are simply distractions trying to lure us from our destiny. When we have opportunities to get upset, maybe somebody is talking about us, or a competitor at work is spreading rumors, or our spouse says something that they shouldn't have, we ought to stop and ask ourselves, "If I engage in this battle and spend my time and energy trying to straighten somebody out, defending myself, arguing with a family member, trying to prove that I'm right, even if I win this battle what is the prize going to be? What is this fight going to accomplish?"
You see, there are a lot of battles that come across our lives each day, but they simply aren't worth the fight. The end result is strife and disharmony.
Proverbs 20:3 says, "Avoiding a fight is mark of honor." If you want to honor God and enjoy your life, decide to be a peacemaker. Be the kind of person that will avoid an unnecessary fight.
If you'll be disciplined to fight the battles that do matter, and take the focus off of those that are less important, not only will your relationships be better and your home full of peace, but God will bless you because where there is peace and unity, God commands a blessing.
Today's thought: I will recognize what battles to fight.
What an "honorable" man you are that you chose not "fight"! Even after being unjustly provoked by dear "Susan"! ~tee hee Me BAD!!!
I have not heard from her today... did you bip her so good now she can't write? ~tee hee
All kidding aside... there is much truth to this devotion today. I love it in Proverbs where it says... "Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor" ... how true it is that our homes will be "full of peace" and how wonderful it is to be blessed with unity! This also brought to mind a wonderful verse that says "how good and pleasant it is to dwell together in unity!"
Hope you are having a wonderful Birthday!
I've enjoyed this thread so much this year and pray the Lord blesses you just real real good for your faithfulness to it!
