Good morning to all.hope everyone is having a good thursday.the weekend is almost here already.these week's sure are flying by fast.jan we alway's could use your great wisdom.you will just have a bigger post later on.

you were asking yesterday jan what we thought about that lady who had all those baby's.i think she is crazy.it is hard enough these day's to raise one or two children let alone 14 since she does not work.that is a lot of mouth's to feed.thing's sure are not cheap anymore.

andy and i did a lot of running around yesterday.we finally got it all done.we stopped in to see my dad yesterday on our way to branson he is doing ok.his mind has gotten worse.most of the time now the only way he remember's people if you show a picture of them to him.when i was on the new's during the storm one of the worker's there say me on the tv.she told my dad about it and he looked puzzled when she told him i saw your daughter on tv.but he does see me and andy in person he get's a big smile on his face.after we saw my dad yesterday andy's cell phone went off it was the nursing home.dad slid right out of his wheel chair and hit his head.he has been doing that a lot latley.i have to take my two dog's to the groomer's today and i am going to stop in and check on him again.

susie i bet you are ready for all that construction to be done.stained glass sound's like it would be fun to learn.as for the bribe with the cookie's that sound's like a idea.

janet thank's for the update on tammy.we sure are praying for her and her grandbabie's.now no more pouting.your sweet grand baby will be here before you know it.but tell megan it would not hurt to hurry up and have the baby.lol.there are a lot of us waiting for that sweet girl to be born.i would love to be a aunt to her.

bec sure is good to have you back home.you did a lot of walking.yes my date to go to columbia will be here soon.one week from this coming tuesday.but who is watching time.lol.me.i can hardly wait.

barbara good to see you back here on the board.i bet baby still stay's close by your side.when the storm's were coming the other night our one dog would not leave andy's side all night long.the storm's really do scare her.she is the same breed as baby.she will 13 on feb 27.she is really starting to show the gray hair's.

renee please let us know how your foot surgery went and how your daughter's are doing.

everyone have a good day.i am going to make andy his protien shake now.one for me too.i know it will help me to lose weight before my surgery and get me used to drinking them.i really do like them.i want to help andy do some work on our window's then i have to get ready to go into town.we are praying for everyone.we love you all.god bless susan

Rain , rain, go away , little jan wants to play  lol well I did anyway I played in the green house....I planted up some tomato seeds and  a package of sweet banana peppers ,  a pack of green peppers and a pack of jalapeno peppers.  So hopefully I will get enough of each one to get them in the garden...which if it rains as much this spring as it did last year we wont be able to have a garden... that was about all I did  outside of the house but I spent a lot of time working inside the house. Trying to find places for all the clothes.  Guess I need a bigger closet. or quit buying clothes.

Have been watching Americ,an Idol  seems like they have picked some really goofy ones  this year. Will see I guess.

Tomorrow start survivor....yea!!!! I like that show.

Hmmm I didn’t do much yesterday that is for sure. A least nothing of interest....sorted thru a lot of things and threw a lot of stuff away...i really do try to keep clutter to a minimum and it still creeps up on me.

SUSAN::::::::I knew you would like Rachele, she is more like a good friend that is a doctor than just a doctor.  She acts like she really cares about a person.,..

SUSIE:::::; lol that is what I would do too if I had to teach , I would take them anything I could to bribe them to be good to me lol .

Susie your sinuses are being irritated by all the dust of the sheetrock and all that the workers are stirring up,,,,,get a good saline nasal rinse and use it as many times in an hour as you have to to keep your nasal passages cleaned out,,,,that stuff is so hard on a persons sinusus and lungs too. if you are too sensitive to it you might think about a dust mask and are you keeping your bedroom sealed off from all of that dust? When you go to clean it all up be sure and wear a dust mask  for sure....

PEGGY:::::: well how much did you get done yesterday in the poop house lol ... so after you go thur all the stuff in the house are you just going to tear the house down?

Cant wait till you are going to have the sale from all of that old stuff . be sure and let me know in enough time ok please,.. hey are you wearing  a dust mask and gloves going thur that stuff? Be sure and do so  you can get all sorts of stuff in that animal poop and dust in an old deserted house.......

Ive always wanted to learn how to do stain glass too,. it looks like something I could really get into , im not a sewer or knitter, but would love to try stained glass. We now have a Michaels close to us at Branson and they have classes of stuff sometimes so will check them out.

JANET::::::: that is exactly the way I feel about that lady that had the 8 babies,..and she is a piece of work if you ask me ....did you see those lips? That is Plastic surgery lips, look at her pictures from younger days, she doesn’t have those lips, how did she afford that living on food stamps.? And not living on welfare??> she is looney tunes for sure, does she really think that food stamps and Medicaid that paid for her pregnancy and delivery of a million dollars isn’t well fare?  Please don’t get upset anyone that is doing either of these things or both there is nothing wrong with being on this if you have to but she  cant see how she will ever manage without having those things to help her, no way..even if she gets a great job paying a great salary she will never be able to take care of 14 kids, I think all the interviews and all she is hoping that she can generate some revenue of some kind, and I do think she is trying to look like Angelina Joline don’t know who would think she is pretty enough to want to look like her but oh well just my opinion , not that I know all that much about that but just don’t like her I guess lol

Anyway to get onto something I do know a little about.....gardening,  starting seeds in the house,  no I wouldn’t  do corn i don’t think it would transplant well but ive never tried it so you might try some and see what happens. Gardening is a lot of trial and error and remembering what you did last time, get you a little notebook and keep track of what all you planted and what happened  when you are first starting out it works really well,,,,,don’t plant your tomatoes , or peppers or eggplants in the same places you planted them last year, move them over to the other side of the garden.  The things that I would plant by seed and get started would be  tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, cabbage, cauliflower,, cucumbers, melons,  the things that you see at stores that have plants for sale,,,, is cheaper and easier to start them yourself with seeds, and the little greenhouse type things you can buy with the domes are well worth the money and especially if you are able to keep them over to use again,, I bought the really nice ones from Parks called bio domes and they are expensive but well worth the money and I have had them so far about 5 years and they are still very good... just have to take care of them and wash them out . well enough of the gardening tips, I don’t claim to be an expert but  just someone that has ask a lot of questions and by trial and error ...and keeping notes. Till it becomes knowledge lol ....

How is Megan? Baby yet?   Has your doctor gotten you some sort of medicine for you to start on? If not you need to call her and see if they haven’t gotten the answer from your med provider yet? You really need to get started on it , it will help..... my sister that teaches exercise has it pretty bad and has djd and ddd  (which is all arthritis) some worse than others but she says as long as she stays healthy and exercises it doesn’t hurt nearly as bad and she said that if she forgets to take her meds one month that she can really tell the difference. And I ask her what the pain felt like and she described it just like you say your pain feels like . ok just don’t get so caught up in the baby that you don’t take care of you,,,,start that meds ...ok?

Oh sugars computer crashed and she hasn’t bought one yet....she isn’t a computer person really , used it mostly for pictures and printing out things for scrapbo0king and papers for other things. And to talk to us on here lol that is about it....well come to think of it email and OH and pictures is about all I use mine for too lol  but I  have so many people that the only way I could ever keep track of them is by email...i would feel lost with out you all for sure...

BARB  S::::: hey no fair, lurking , your not allowed to do that lol ....glad you are feeling better , and baby too .

Be sure and say hi to us at least once in a while other wise we think you are sick lol

BEC:::::::man you make me feel so inadequate with the amount of exercise I do.,..while in Tucson I probably did that much walking but it was while looking at stuff and stopping a lot and that helps but cant really br called exercise lol ,..

All of that is good cardo exercise , you do weights to and like the old floor exercises too don’t you? I know you have to be looking really good by now, we never hear from you what your weight loss is ....am anxious to see you again...miss you a lot...but like you said it wont be long now till yearly picnic in the park....July last year wasn’t it?

Glad you are back and keep up the good work bu****ch those blisters on the feet they can get nasty.

Yep am doing a lot of yard work and greenhouse gardening ....almost have tomatoes on some plants that I started late fall lol....they are always so good. No disease or any thing. And I keep fans on them to help with pollination. Anyway it is fun ...im thinking about doing this with at least a salad garden in the green house next fall, wonder how that will work? To be cont:::: lol

Welcome back.

Well better late than never so hope Thursday is going to be a great day for you,,.,

HUGS AND LOVE

Hello Mimi and Missouri...

I just got back from my walk... cut off a little today going one way and added two hills going the other way.... just gets my heart rate up a little more of the time I'm out there... I seemed to have done it faster today.... guess Paul was not there to babble to! ~tee hee

The birds were singing so beautifully this morning!  I dearly LOVE to hear the birds sing... I can just feel "hope, happiness, blessing" in that sound!

I am working on my menu for Paul's Valentines Dinner on Saturday... I am fixing him all new recipes.... one is a new chicken cordon blue recipe... make with puff pastry... cooked chicken, ham and cheese...then there is also fresh sauteed mushrooms, onions and spices in there with a bit of cream... I am going to cut hearts out of the extra puff pastry and put on the outside of the bundles sealing them on with an egg wash... then there is a cream sauce you drizzle over the top before you serve it... it will be fun to make ....and I am making green bean bundles... made with whole green beans and wrapped in a slice of partially cooked bacon, then they  have a Splenda brown sugar sauce poured over them and baked... can't wait to see how that turns out... then I am serving a fresh strawberry mousse made with cream cheese and whipping cream, splenda, and a bit of white choc... ewe la la!!  Maybe make some mini muffins I have a neat little tree you display the muffins on... Will make a real festive centerpiece for the table.  Will serve the meal with a fresh raspberry tea.  It should be a very elegant meal... we will see.

Mimi ~  I sure don't want to make you feel bad about the amount of exercise you do... I know I won't do this much for ever it just takes way too long but for now I can so I do and it makes me feel so much better to get out of this house and just be outside.

I do try and do weights each day to give my upper body some exercise too about 20 to 30 minutes... whatever my back will take for the day... but I do not do the old time floor exercises because that's what seems to hurt my back the most.  It is taking me about 2 to 2.5 hours each day to get it all done... I know in the future I may not have that luxury especially if I go back to work.  But for now I feel like it is a gift the Lord has given me and I need to take good advantage of it....

I have lost 75 lbs now... I have been stuck for well over a month now... it's the very very very pits but I'm trying to not get discouraged over it and just keep on doing what I know I need to do... I am getting in all my vits, protein, water and exercise... I know I am gaining muscle mass because I can feel it in my arms and legs so I will just wait till this ole body is ready to drop some more lbs.

My mother in law said she could not tell I had lost much, but Amanda said she could... so I don't know how I am "looking" oh well it doesn't really matter much because I FEEL WAY BETTER physically.

I have went from a 4X to a XL in tee shirts... I'm like everyone else it depends on the clothes, what fits...

Oh boy a salad garden sounds fun... my sis did one of those last spring in a half barrel cut length wise put on a stand... it was sooooo neat! lettuce, radishes, green onions and so forth it was just as cute as it could be!! A real interesting piece in her yard.

I love to listen to all you are doing with your plants.  I wish I could afford all the ideas I have in my head! ~tee hee

Well I have a lot of paperwork to do today so I better get on it.

A blessed rest of the day to you all!

Hello Missouri,
Happy two days before Valentine's day to you all.

It's a beautiful day in SW Missouri. Of course being post RNY I have on a down vest and have a mini heater running in my office but that's what I do in the Summer too!!!

John and I met 15 years ago 2/9 and I always love this holiday because it brought such a wonderful man into my shattered life. God is sooooooo good even when we are undeserving and boy at the time He brought me John I was so angry at God I was sure undeserving. God does some of His best work when we least expect it and He did a great job on me by bringing someone to help heal my wounded heart and help me take those first wobbling steps back into real relationship with God and with another person who I could trust. YEAH GOD!!

We aren't going to do any heavy celebrating Saturday night. I asked John what he wanted me to fix and he said since we are going to the Symphony and have to be there at 7:15 we could just go to Panera or something like that on the way and I said - "Sure". I'm a fool but not that big a one.

BTW, I agree with Janet about the Doctor who did the in vitro fertilization on that crazy woman. Maybe he would like to take financial responsibility for the 8 little babies he helped bring into the world. Someone should be investigating his practice and where he got the money for that procedure. He's as crazy as she is or as money-grubbing. However, he and the woman are getting lots of free publicity and I think that's what they both wanted. Probably have some kind of deal to split money. Disgusting.

So glad to see Miss Jan home where she belongs and out in the greenhouse working at what she loves so much. I am always so glad someone likes that gardening stuff because I get to go to the Farmer's Market and reap the benefits of all their hard work (being basically a lazy bum myself).

By the way - I hope you can't overdose on sugarless gum because since I've decided to try to lose a few more pounds I've been using it as a substitute for the sweets I'm not eating. I like the Mentos gum - it is so cool it's hot!!! Love it. I do enjoy gum so I have to be careful because I pop it, blow bubbles and every other obnoxious thing you can do with gum. If I'm just in my office it's OK but if I go out in public I try to remember to walk by a trash can and dispose of it before I see anyone. A formerly fat old woman chomping on gum is not a pretty sight!!

I am proud that I said "formerly fat". My instinct, even at two plus years post-op, is to say a "fat" old woman. Intellectually I "know" I'm not fat but my head sees only the saggy tummy and thighs and says "Boy, are you fat." So, for all you newbies out there - know that you fight this battle forever - your head versus your mind. Try not to lose your mind!! If you find mine - let me know, please. No, really. I find that I still fight head hunger and one of the biggies for me is that I put too much food on my plate or order food in a restaurant and think - "Is that enough" and then after I get it and start eating realize that there is no way I can even eat the smaller sized salad that I was afraid might not be "enough". I think that when we were fat there was a place inside us that never got "enough" and that we were trying to constantly fill with food and now that we are thinner we often fall back into that "enough" trap. When our pouch is 2 years old I believe it really is full with 1 cup of food but somehow those old bad habits creep in and that doesn't "look" like quite enough. It is!!! Remember it, believe it and use the tool. We are a part of the lucky few, the ones who have been given a wheel when the rest of the overweight world is dragging around on a sled. Let's celebrate our good fortune and fortitude - it hasn't been easy for most of us to get the surgery - and be what we need to be, happy, healthy, grateful thinner people.
I love you all and pray over this board constantly.
You are on my mind and heart at all times.
Hugs and loveys
Lana

"WLS is about making better choices, a healthier lifestyle and seeing how little you can eat.  Portion control is the key to all weight loss surgeries.  Bottom line - it isn't how much you can eat - it is how little you can eat."

Hello, No baby as of right now while I'm writing. We (mom, grandma, jon,  Aaron and I ) all went walking at the mall trying to get miss Mackenzie to make her debut, but so far she is stubborn like her mommie.... not sure where I would get that from either? I have been having a lot of pressure and discomfort so hopefully it won't be too much longer. I have my dr appointment in the morning so we will see. They do have wifi at my hospital and I have my laptop so I will bring it with to the hospital when something happens. I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers!
Love

Lana you hit the nail right on the head, it is a constant battle...I don't eat much at a time but seems like I wanna eat more often..maybe its the time of the year.
I get scared because some days I feel really fat and I get my smallest  jeans out and see if they feel tight, well sometimes they do and I get frantic, seems like the worry is always there..

As for husbands I have a wonderful one also that God sent to me 9 years ago yesterday, after a life of abuse, and I thank God for him everyday...

Jan I am glad you are home, because I'm afraid if you moved out there I would have to too...lol...

Meagan its time now, we are all waiting, I know you are so worn out, but she will be so worth it when she makes her appearance love ya all....vesta

Got back from Lowes in time to see Survivor. I watch but its not my favorite reality show. I like big brother more. I think they will start sanding on my sheetrock tomorrow.  I think it is the dust that is giving my sinus a fit. I will be glad when its over. I bought my ceiling fans tonight and got my carpet picked out yesterday. I am looking forward to being able to spread out my crafts. I have so many things I want to do with the room I really need four rooms. I keep thinking this room will make me good at something. I will need to come up with another excuse.

If you want to do stained glass you need to take a class. It is expensive to get started but if  you can do it you really get some beautiful results.I tend to get really enthusiastic with a new craft and buy all the stuff and then fizzle out. I really need to get back into it. Lately I have done a few mosaics instead of using lead I use grout. It is a lot more forgiving.

I really am in awe of some of you the way you cook, clean ,garden, and exersice. I really feel like I am falling behind because I do so little. Dh tells me I do nothing all the time. He may be right. I just might be a little lazy. I refuse to let Dh be right, I need to find my niche is all. I at least won't be fat much longer.

have a great evening.

Susie
