In Matthew we see how Jesus is fulfilling the scriptures in what is the beginning of His death.  Peter was told he would deny Jesus 3 times but he said in no way would he ever do that, well it came to pass, he denied Jesus 3 times before the rooster crowed.  That just goes to show you how Jesus knew exactly what was going to take place in order for him to be put on the cross and shed His blood for us.  It just gives me Holy Ghost bumps when I think about all He had to go through just so that we could have life and have it more abundantly.  What a sacrifice He gave.

Proverbs really stuck out at me again, it seems Proverbs is the book of wisdom and it really lives up to its title, again the book talks about being wise and listen to His instructions.  We will be blessed if we listen to the instructions of the Lord and that when we find Him we also find favor.  I don’t know about you but I sure want to be on the side of God that gives out favor, for being in favor brings protection and blessings.  I just love Proverbs.

The devotional also hit home with me this morning.  Made me think how many times I speak the wrong things over myself and my home.  Our words are very powerful.  According to the Bible our words give life and also our words can give defeat.  The Bible says to call things that are not as though they were, well I know Im gonna call success into my life and not defeat, I’ve been defeated to long its time for victory in our lives. I choose today to speak Victory and not defeat into my life.

Daily Devotional

Romans 4:17
"…the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were"

Your Words have creative power. Just as God calls things that are not as though they were, we should also declare what we want to see in our lives. In other words, you may have days when you don't feel well, but don't go around saying, "Ah, my back has been hurting me. I'm getting so old. I don't think I'm ever going to get better." When you speak like that, you are speaking defeat into your future. Instead, turn it around. Declare a report of victory by saying, "I may not feel up to par, but I know it's only temporary. God is restoring health unto me. I'm getting stronger, healthier, and feeling younger. My best days are still up ahead."

Remember, you're going to get what you call in to your life. You have creative power in your words, and you are prophesying your future. Declare what God says about you–that you are blessed and you cannot be cursed, that you are above only and not beneath! As you call things that are not as though they were, you will see God's wonderful promises and blessing come to pass in every area of your life!

Today's thought: I choose today to speak Gods blessings in my life.

wow what powerful words,,,,I choose to speak Gods Blessings into my life,,,, after all why would he give his life for ME if he didnt want me to have victory over things,, to be blessed,,, i wonder if you ever get old enough that 'God quits revealing things to you from his word.. ?
I have some neices and nephews.Sugars grands, that go to Christian School and they have taught the kids that to speak things causes them to be,.
so the kids are learning at an early age what this is trying to teach us...

Speak only blessings to ourselves and not defeat....maybe we all should put that on notecards and put it around our house, on the ref, the bathroom mirror. by your computer, at your favorite place to sit,,,, can you imagine the amazing things that God will do in our lives if we ask him and speak them
Amen

WOW - Powerful stuff. I believe that a positive attitude and prophesying your future is what God intends for us. He never wants us to fail in things that are for our good. We ARE blessed and not cursed. Thanks, Andy. I love this devotional.

Hello Andy and All...

As I was gone this past few days the Lord as always spoke to me thru His word.  There is so much to be gleaned from the words of instruction,  wisdom, discipline, blessing, victory, overcoming joy and the list goes on ... there has not been a single day that has gone by yet that I have not gotten something to "ponder" on the rest of the day.... for that I'm thankful!

With today's words of speaking blessings into our lives this song came to mind... if any of you know it, it has a very catchy tune and speaks words of victory.... I dearly love the words I highlighted in pink as they speak hope and blessing as you all have indicated... many is the time I have seen these trials in my life but in the end the as I exercised my faith and "traded" I DID find joy in the Lord!

I'm trading my sorrow
I'm trading my shame
I'm laying it down for the joy of the Lord

I'm trading my sickness
I'm trading my pain
I'm laying it down for the joy of the Lord

Chorus:
And we say yes Lord yes Lord yes yes Lord
Yes Lord yes Lord yes yes Lord
Yes Lord yes Lord yes yes Lord Amen

I'm pressed but not crushed persecuted not abandoned
Struck down but not destroyed
I'm blessed beyond the curse for his promise will endure (my very favorite part)
And his joy's gonna be my strength

Though the sorrow may last for the night
His joy comes with the morning

To me this song acknowledges that yes we do have "stuff" but we do not have to stay in that place as we have a choice to move into all that the Lord promises us!  And the assurance that He will meet us at the point of our very need!!!!  This give me those "bumps" Andy speaks of above! ~tee hee

I heard a wonderful sermon on Sunday that stuck with me maybe I can share part of it tomorrow....

Blessing to you all this evening...

Bec
