WHAT HAPPENING TUESDAY

Jan C.
on 2/9/09 1:07 pm - Cedar Creek, MO

,Hey we are home.....yeah,...we got here by 11:00am and not a minute too soon we pulled into our driveway and it started raining....This morning when we left North Little Rock we prayed for God to protect us on the highway and to also letus get home before it started raining. And he did...You know we have always prayed when before we get on our bikes and ride...and God has always kept us safe. We expect it and know He can...

We have had delays that were just weird and go up the road about 1 mile and there be a huge big wreck .....like we had a problem with the lic plate on the trailer. It blew almost completely off the trailer , luckly we were at a gas station when we noticed and borrowed an awl from them and made new holes and put it up higher on different holes any way it didn’t take but about 10 minutes...but was enough time to avoid a 6 car pile up on the freeway...Thank you Jesus. He sure is good isn’t he? The Bible says to believe that he will, and he will. that is the way I live too. I expect him to take care of me.. and so I just leave it up to him to make the decisions of what I need and what is best.

Secret Pal  im so thankful for the pretty Rooster dish towel, and pot holders... thank you so much...im sorry I wasn’t home when they came but was a happy gift to open amoung all the junk mail and bills ....who ever you are I really appreciate it,,,,

Tomorrow I have to go to wal mart and then stop and see the babies after than we have to go get groceries and go home....hopefully we can get some of the mess of limbs in our yard cut up and burned. My pretty front yard looks like a war zone....one red bud tree is completely gone. But those are pretty resilient trees. We will cut it all down and it will come up from the roots. Well most of the time they do...we may  not get that with that one tho it has looked sort of sick for the last couple of years. So this may be end of it. we will see. Have several big limbs off the elms and some off the dogwood too.  then over in the shade garden , a couple of large limbs and cedar limbs too,. but im sure not going to complaine, nothing was damaged and Andy thanks for moving the cedar limbs out of the driveway so we could get into the carport,. We were really lucky to not have some damage to not one of the buildings or outbuildings.  Great huh?

ANDY AND SUSAN;::::: I hope you all really know how much I appreciate you two... thanks for all you have done for us...and how well you looked after our house and especially Rebel....he is as fat as a little pig and happy too. sure was happy to see us but he now has good walking pardner huh? I saw him tagging right behind you as you went around the block....tomorrow morning I have to go to town but will be ready to start walking again

Susan im glad you helped us keep the rain from getting to us lol

Did you all get your lumber cut and ready to paint?  Am anxious to see that I bet it will look good. Then you can get some curtains to help keep out the cold some...

SUSIE::::: I knew you would lose it....my way of losing ever since I started was I lose a couple of pounds and then gain it back and maybe another pound or two. And then will lose back down .

Do you have a pair of your size 22s yet? If so put them up side by side and if needed to take a picture of the 2 different size pants and look at that...

Your eyes will start seeing what other do.

BEV::::::: lol I get to doing that sometimes too. I don’t know why but it takes a lot to break the habit it seems.

Im glad you are following your doctors orders. That is really good. Im trying to eat more too so at least I can get in 1000 calories...it isn’t easy is it.?

I wish I knew something about how to do scrapbooks. I would love to make pretty ones with my pictures of different places,.

So what did your doctor say about how you are doing? Have you started writing your story down?

How is your kid at work doing....do you have the same one all the time or do you take a different one daily. I worked with mentally handicapped kids for about 5 years, and know that the best results in them learning is for them to have the same people with then all the time. but they were in an instution not just a normal school..

JANET:::::; so the 12th huh? We will see I guess. As my grandma use to say “When the apple is ripe it will fall" lol     sorry to hear about the broken tooth...ouch,..!!! that does hurt...

So we are all getting anxious right along with you lot of grandmas out here you know. Lol

So did you find out about the little church or what ever....

WOW WAY TO GO STEPHANI    GREAT JOB

MEGGIE:::::: we made it home just fine....what a treat to see you on here .....all we ole grandmas are chopping at the bit to see this sweet little  bundle that you are having.

Don’t underestimate your mom on what she will choose to happen...

SANDY::::::: we are all waiting for that baby now aren’t we....dont you know that Janet and Mike are going to be busting at the seems ???

Thanks for helping to pray for us to get home before the rain....

LOVE AND HUGS

GOD BLESS

EXPECT A MIRCLE

Yeah you are so right Jan, we were very lucky, or more like blessed that nothkng fell on the houses or sheds or anything.  Well the black walnut tree in the back crushed part of the fence, but thats not a big deal really, can be fixed.  Im just so glad you and Joe had those tree's around our house cut,  I really think we would of had some damage if they had been there still, esp since one of those tree's was sorta hollow in the middle.

Your so welcome about taking care of your place, it was actually a blessing to us, really.  We were and are more then glad to do it anytime.  Yeah Rebel was fed pretty good lol I dunno if Susan told ya but when there was snow on the ground i walked over to check the greenhouse and found deer tracks coming from the back of our place all the way into your carport where rebels food is, that day his food dish was empty  lol  Those crazy deer must of got hungry or something,  I didnt know they'd eat dog food but guess if they are hungry they'll eat most anything  lol.  I also kept seeing birds in his dish, esp those ugly black birds, not often but a few times there would be a couple at his dish until i would come around the corner then they'd fly off lol.

That was so funny when I was out doing my walk and rebel was behind me and I saw y'all driving up on the motorcycle, I looked back at rebel and he must of seen you two and ran across the yards to beat ya to the top of your drive LoL he's so funny, what a good dog he is.  I was surprised he went and walked with me last night, I figured since joe was back he'd stay there  lol

I didnt quite get all the wood cut yesterday for the windows, i'll finish that today then later today or tomorrow we'll start painting them, yeah i think its gonna look nice framed out like that, it will hide that old dirty aluminum and will be easier to hang some curtains up, will look real nice in there. I've had a sheet up in the corner where the recliner is cuz you could feel the coldness off the windows, the sheet made a difference so Im sure hanging curtains will help alot.

Well Im gonna post then and go get a protein shake, hope everyone has a great day.  Stay safe if it storms like they say its suppose too.

Andy

I said no twice yesterday but gave in this morning.  I will go get me a new batch of  germs. I will be at the middle school today. Lovely hormone capital of teens. I am hoping to see Marilyn if she is still at the lake after school. Work just interfers with life to much.

All of the scrapbookers out there would enjoy the card making we will be doing at the next BBF meeting on the 28th.You are all welcome.

Glad Jan got in before the rain. I was worried the wind would get you, I heard it was really bad down that way.

I still have my sinus but survived the night without getting up for more cold meds. We will see how the day goes. I am a bit better.

I had a party Sunday I had to provide snacks for and I have tons of cookies left so I am taking them to the kids today, maybe that will help them behave.MAYBE.

Hope everyone has decent weather today and has a pleasant day. Grandbaby watch continues for you lucky ladies.

Hello Missouri,

TA-DA!! So good you are home where you belong, Jan. I read quite often and missed you even though others were trying to keep things going. It's just not the same without you. Glad you had a great time - just don't get it into your head to move down there permanently. Go in the summer and you'll change your mind. I know we made that mistake about Las Vegas. Went in November and then again in April and bought a house!! Moved in June and it was 116 degrees!! WAAAA

Seems as if I've missed lots of drama this past few days. Probably a good thing because you all know how I would have answered Misty. Janet did a pretty good job of standing in for me. She is my child isn't she?

I know that I'd love to be where I couldn't eat much. I have carb problems and since I can enter what I eat in a program called Lose It! I am journaling every bite and it does help me stay on track. I've gained about 10 pounds - even though I promisied myself I would never let that happen. Thank God for my surgery and that I still don't really have hunger - just head saying "it is noon or 6:30pm, you must be hungry". DH is trying to lose some weight too so it makes it easier for me. I did so well and then we went to NY and then the holidays and I just lost track of myself for a little while. Thankfully I can still wear my clothes - they just look like crud on me right now. I refuse to buy any bigger ones - people will just have to look at my rolls until I get them gone again.

I am sure planning to be at the meeting this month. I have missed all of you so much. I hope it doesn't snow or sleet or any of those other messy things this time. I ended up not even going to the party that I missed the meeting for last month because even though it was just down the street I was afraid and it turns out with good reason because it did get ugly that night.

We have some new plans for vacations this year. In May we will be going to Charlottesville, Virginia for DH's family reunion and then in October to Albuquerque for the baloon fiesta and some dear friend's 50th anniv.

School is finally settling down - but it will be mid-term before I know it and then gearing up for graduation. It is a great, never-ending cycle. And you know I love it. I will be applying for Medicare this summer - can't figure out if I want parts A & B or just the hospital one. I will eventually get it right. I'll work one more year in order to get full Social Security and pension from the University. Sometimes I can't wait to retire and other times I don't want to leave my job. I'm very possessive about what I do and how I do it so it will be hard for me.

Hope you all have a great day and evening and if I can't get back on later this week have a Happy Valentine's day. I love this holiday. It is just pure joy and love. And I can wear red or pink every day (like I don't anyway).
Hugs and much love
Lana

"WLS is about making better choices, a healthier lifestyle and seeing how little you can eat.  Portion control is the key to all weight loss surgeries.  Bottom line - it isn't how much you can eat - it is how little you can eat."

YEA!!!!  Jan and Joe made it home, safely and BEFORE the rain!  So glad to hear that!

Not much going on here....I'm trying to force myself to get to the farmhouse and get some more work done in there.  It is just so nasty, tho and I hate every minute.  It doesn't help motivate me when my attitude is so bad...I really have to work on that.  If I can just keep telling myself that when it's done, I can empty the storage units and get the sale done.  I know we won't make anything (that's not the point, anyway) but just to not have it hanging over our heads anymore.  I knew her death was going to be tough, but never never never did I expect it to be like this.  Ok, enough depression...

My plan would be to have lunch with a friend today, since it is going to be beautiful...then work at the farm Wednesday and Thursday.  Friday would be Shelia and dancing and back to the farm Saturday.  Yeah, Valentine's Day in racoon poop and mold....YIPPEE!!!

Janet....you bet I will make time for you in April!  I would love to meet you and whoever comes with you.  So let me know and we'll make plans.

I'm extremely jealous that Cor is heading to Branson.  (pouting)  She gets to meet with some of you all.  I wish I could tag along....there will be another time, tho.

Bev....I love beading!  I make necklaces and stuff for myself...and I have made some for a few people.  There is a great bead shop in Martin City (south of KC) if you ever head this way.  Not a lot of seed beads but unusual beads made of stone and such.  Even freshwater pearls!  And she is VERY reasonable.  So if you ever head this way, PM me and I will tell you how to get there.   It's worth the extra time.

I will certainly be glad to Bec back and posting again.  I have missed her.  And how is Renee'?  Haven't seen her around for a few days.  Nice to see Shannon is posting.  But I still haven't heard from Barb.  I know she was having difficulties from the accident....  It's also been fun to see Megan posting!  I know this is one cybergranny that's excited!    I wish I had neighbors like Susan and Andy...I'm sure my Brat Cat would be just stuffed!  I hardly even know our neighbors....that's why I can't wait to build on the farm.  I tend to be a loner, anyway.

Well, I really need to get my rear in gear...I sure do love you all.  Thanks for all you do!
Peggy
Life isn't about about waiting for the storm to pass...
It's about learning to dance in the rain.

I am going to start beading this weekend - i can't wait.  I love crafts.  I had to stop crocheting as my hands cramped so bad.  I got a kit and am anxious to start.  I need to clean out my craft area and sort thru what I don't use or want to do anymore as its a mess.

Might as well plan on doing that as we sure are not going to be planting with the s word comimg in again tomorrow...

I need to back off on carbs as I am eating way to many.  I let myself get off track by trying to gain weight and am now up to 160 pounds and am feeling so much better.  So many have said that I am looking better as I am not so gaught (sp)now.

My dr's appointment with Dr. Suttmoeller in March 13th at 2:45.  Is anyone going to be in Columbia that day?
