I am 3 weeks post-op (surgery Jan 19th) and still haing trouble getting excited about this surgery.  I am still on a Stage II diet (creamed soups and the like)  nothing really tates right.  Most things (pudding, Crystal-Lyte) taste too sweet.  My protein drinks gag me.  Over-all, although I force myself to eat, it is not good.  No problems with nausea or vomitting.  Weight loss has been pretty good.  I am down 25 lbs from Jan 5, the day I started my pre-op diet.

Yesterday I went to a weekly Women's group that I normally go to.  I hadn't been since surgery.  No one said a word about me looking like I have lost weight.  That was kinda discouraging.  Even I can tell in my face that I have lost weight.

Just needed a place to express what I am going thru.  Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.

Hugs,

Deb C

Just because they didn't say anything doesn't mean they didn't notice. It gets better.

Deb C... seems like all you have written is pretty "normal" if you will... hang in there things will change and you will be encouraged.

Seems like I've always had to lose at least 50+ lbs before I could tell I'd lost anything... "hurry up and wait" can get discouraging but it WILL happen and you will be so pleased.

They will notice.  It will be exciting once people start talking about you and you start buying smaller sizes. Also from my experience sometimes we wear out big clothes to long and its harder for people to notice, just a thought.  Good Luck on your weight loss so far, Raynetta
