When I read the devotional this morning it reminded me of a few set back I’ve had in losing weight.  I think we all have been there, been in that dreaded stall and even gained a pound or two, which was probably water weight or something, it gets disappointing when it happens but when we get through it and see that scale go down again its such a rewarding feeling.  Like the devotional says, weeping endures for a night but joy comes in the morning, that’s also a beautiful song.  I want to be one of those bounce back people that keeps standing and keeps believing no matter what because in the end its reward is awesome.

You all have a wonderful day, stay warm since it’s suppose to be cold today.

Today’s Reading

Exodus 17:8-19:15
Matthew 22:34-23:12
Psalm 27:7-14
Proverbs 6:27-35

Daily Devotional

I Peter 1:6-7
"So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold…"

We all face disappointments and setbacks. Life is full of things that try to push us down. Maybe you got bad news concerning your health. A relationship didn't work out. Maybe you lost your job. It was a setback. When we face setbacks, it's easy to get discouraged or lose our enthusiasm. Too often we are tempted to just settle where we are. But if we're going to see God's best, we have to have a bounce-back mentality. That means when you get knocked down, you don't stay down. You get back up again. It means when disappointments come, you shake them off knowing that what the enemy meant for your harm God is going to turn around and use for your good.

When you're a bounce-back person, you know that adversity is not permanent. Weeping may endure for a night, but you know joy is coming in the morning. There is wonderful joy ahead on the other side of this trial. Keep standing, keep believing, and choose to be a bounce-back person because you are coming out better off than you were before! You are rising higher, and you will fulfill the destiny God has in store for you!

Today's thought: Lets be a bounce back person for God.

I think that is something that a lot of parents dont teach their children and they do them a great injustice ....they never teach them that the little dissapointments in life as a child need to learned to be handled and that it doesnt kill them to have their little hearts hurt once inawhile.  how else can they learn to brush themselves off and bounce back from things and much bigger things as they are adults? they cant learn this just all of a sudden as an adult.   Gods word to parents is to teach and that was always what i did with my kids was try to teach them what they would need to handle adult life. I had a really hard life when i was raising my 3 kids and lots of time worked 2 full time jobs but i still made time to be with my kids and talk to them.
this new way of schools and parents of " no winners and no Losers" is wrong ....there are losers in life and like i said it doesnt hurt them to start learning it early . what the parents job is to teach from that opertunity . when the childs team loses, or they lose ,, yes that is sad .  and we can be sad today but tomorrow we know that God has something else in store for us. . so you may not be the best at that thing but look at what else God has given you.

didnt mean to turn this into a novel but just know that if my parents hadnet taught me that i would have been down for the count years and years ago,,,,,

Jan I know what ya  mean, some kids today are raised so different and arent taught and brought up how they were back in the day.  I was watching Dr. Phil the other day, he had several teenagers on his show that are addicted to text messeging, some of them text over 40,000 to 50,000 text messeges a month, can you believe that?  I mean, there's nothing wrong with text messeging but to do that many you gotta be texting nearly ALL day, geeze.  Anyway I know some parents that their kids are so well behaved, so brought up in the Lord and are so blessed so I guess there is still some parents that instill the right values in their kids, if they were all brought up like that this world be a better place.

Y'all be safe on your  journey home.
