Daily Bible Reading - Saturday Jan. 31
Im posting this little devotional instead of the regular devotional this morning, I got this in an email yesterday and it’s really hit me between the eyes so I thought I’d share it. When you read it you’ll see why. This is what the Lord is doing in my life right now, having WLS has changed my life and Malachi 3:3 really fits perfect in my life right now. It’s like I am the silver and God is holding me over the fire burning out the old me until I am refined and purified, that’s what He’s been doing in my life this first month of the new year, well really for awhile now but it’s taking me this long to realize what He’s been up to, I’m slow sometimes but I eventually get it. I hope it bless you as much as it has me all day. I just Praise God for His life changing opportunities, He is so Good to us, so good!!
In reading in Exodus today did you see that Pharaoh finally gave in and let the Israelites go, but did you notice when Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to go and take the Israelites out of the land he said at the end “Bless me". It never did say whether Moses blessed Pharaoh or not, or at least in the version I been reading but it struck me that Pharaoh being as hard hearted as he had been for all those years he still wanted to be blessed. It also said they Israelites had been there for 430 years, my goodness that’s a LONG time. We’ll see soon though where Pharaoh ends up.
***Peggy*** I know in my life I’ve put stipulations on God many times and not realized what I was doing. It’s a wonder God hasn’t come down and smacked me upside the head to knock some sense into me, well actually He has many times but I was always to stubborn to realize. It really seems right now God is doing such a tremendous work is us all. It’s amazing how He can do different things in different people all at the same time, what an awesome God we serve.
***Bec***Looks as if God is turning you into a dynamic minister hehe, He really is doing such a work in your life and it means so much that you share that with us, I know its totally blessed me and helped me in changing my life for Him. As you share about discipline I know for me that’s been such a sore spot in my life because I have totally lacked discipline in my life for years and years. I dunno why, maybe I wasn’t taught it as a kid or what but I know I am in the situation I am in with my weight and other areas because of the lack of discipline in my life. This new year that’s what he has focused on for me and still does, I guess I still keep going down “screaming like a little kid" so to speak. The more I do it seems the more discipline he puts me through but I’m finally getting it, getting what God is doing. The devotional this morning really sums up what God is going in my life, one day we will all look back and smile in amazement at the things God had to take us through in order to get where He wants us. Thanks so much for sharing like you do.
Wow, it’s the last day of January but just only the beginning of what God has in store for us all. Have a wonderful day y’all.

Daily Devotional for Dieters
Today I’m posting a different devotional, its not really a devotional so to speak but it really blessed me, someone sent this to me in an email yesterday and its spoke to me ever since.
Malachi 3:3 says; 'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'
This verse puzzled some women in a bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.
One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.
That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.
As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.
The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: 'He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.' She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time.
The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.
The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you know when the silver is fully refined?'
He smiled at her and answered, 'Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it.'
If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.
And, whatever you’re going through, you'll be a better person in the end.
'Life is a coin. You can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.'
