Daily Bible Reading - Saturday Jan. 24
Today God is really dealing with me on several issues in my life. It seems the more I read His word the more I find I have issues in my life that need dealing with. I seem to put things like that off and not deal with hoping if I hide it, it will just disappear, but as we all know that just don’t happen, God see’s it no matter where we are or where we hide things. His word this morning has really dealt with me, especially the Psalms and Proverbs. At times those two books speak volumes. I really hope everyone that is reading the word of God with us daily is being blessed beyond measure, I know I sure am. We are almost one month into reading and have read and studied so much already, just think of how much more the Lord has stored up in His word.
***Bec***Wow what words of wisdom you had yesterday, that really really blessed my socks off. Thank you for being obedient to the Lord and writing your thoughts down. I had not seen much of that while reading Psalms and Proverbs. I just love it how God speaks different words to different people for the same passage of scripture. Thank you!!!
***Peggy***I can sure relate to you about not hearing what you want or not being persistent in waiting for His answer for you. Sometimes I think its our nature to want to do our own thing or hear only what we want to hear, that’s one thing I am constantly working on in my life, hearing what He wants me to hear and not only what I want to hear, I’m realizing more and more God our Father sure does know what’s best.
***Deb***Love that song on your profile, thanks for sharing that. I just love how some music can express more then plain words can, music at times has always blessed me big time, thank you!!
Today’s Reading
Genesis 48:1-49:33
Matthew 15:29-16:12
Psalm 20:1-9
Proverbs 4:20-27
Daily Devotional for Dieters
Proverbs 2:7-8
"He holds victory in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones"
Are you facing a challenge or difficulty that seems overwhelming? When you stand strong and remain faithful to God, He promises to set your course for victory! And victory doesn’t necessarily mean everything is going to go our way all the time or work out the way we planned.
The Bible says that the real battle we face isn’t in our cir****tances, it’s in our minds. The enemy is after your thoughts. He’s after your peace and joy. He knows that when you have peace, it’s a sign that you are connected to the Father. When you hold on to your peace and choose to be joyful, you are walking in victory and it’s just a matter of time before your cir****tances line up!
Remember, God knew every person who would wrong you, and He’s already laid out your vindication. God knew every disappointment, and He’s already laid out new opportunities. God knew everything that would be stolen, and He has already laid out your restoration. Rejoice today knowing that He has set your course for victory in every area of your life!
Today's thought: Let’s walk in VICTORY today and everyday!
Then in Matthew... do I realize the magnitude of the miracles? I think not. Can you even imagine all those people being gathered let alone such a small amount feeding so many! WOW oh WOW!
Ok now on to what seems to be ministering me most lately.... and that is Psalms, Proverbs and Andy's daily devotions... I can just see a common "thread" running thru these each day and I guess I am so in need of paying attention to them so I can become a better person... Psalms assures us today that the Lord... hears us, sees us, plans our Victory celebrations, He helps us defeat our enemies(those things we struggle with so very much)!
Proverbs... I have to write this portion because I feel it is so very important to my success not only in this weight loss journey but in life as well... over and over the Lord tells me to PAY ATTENTION ... do you know I had to go back and re~read what I wrote yesterday after reading Andy's nice comments to me today? I couldn't even remember from day to day.... no wonder the Lord has to keep saying things over and over again in His word.... boy can I be HARD HEADED!
Proverbs 4:20-27
My son, pay attention to what I say, listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.
Wow I felt the need to "bold" the whole thing, it all is so important and they are straight forward words for a straightforward life of as the devotion says VICTORY!!!
Proverbs 2:7-8
"He holds victory in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones"
Boy I hope to goodness I have not bored you all to death.... just skip over me if it is as I seem to be thinking with my fingers this past two days... there is so much more I am thinking but will spare you all... ~ha
I do pray that each one that is doing this with us... is getting just what you need from it and the Lord is speaking to you in just the way you need Him too... I can't wait to look back over this year and have the Lord open my eyes to what He has done thru this! Not just for me but all you you as well!
Blessings, blessings and more blessings to each one today!
Bec
Once again, I am amazed at the Word....how it is new every morning.

Life isn't about about waiting for the storm to pass...
It's about learning to dance in the rain.
You know what stood out to me from today's lesson? I wondered how Jacob was feeling and wondering if he was flashing back when he was givng the blessings to Joseph's sons.Flashing back to when he and Esau were young and were after thier fathers blessings...Do you think there was some feelings of decietfullness and remorse in his heart? God is so good to allow us to look back at the mistakes weve made and learn from them so we can become better people.
Bec, your words and thoughts could never be boring! I love what God is doing thru this study...
GOD is my ROCK! SUGAR
