On Monday food manufacturing giant Kellogg said salmonella had been found in a package of its peanut butter crackers.

Kellogg is now recalling all of its peanut butter sandwich products; the problem is many of those products are still on store shelves.

Monday afternoon KRCG found some Keebler crackers and Famous Amos cookies on the shelf at a convenience store, both are on the recall list.

The Kellogg’s brand recall covers all Keebler and Austin quality food brands.

Grocery store Hyvee has also recalled its store brand cookies.

Little Debbie has recalled its sandwich crackers; and Lofthouse has recalled its peanut butter cookies.

Federal health officials have urged people to avoid eating cookies, cakes, ice cream and other foods that contain peanut butter.

The recall list is very long because the problem is being linked to peanut paste made at the Peanut Corporation factory in Georgia.

The peanut paste is used by dozens of food manufacturers. Officials say most peanut butter sold in jars at supermarkets appear to be safe
