WHATS HAPPENING SATURDAY

Here the wandering , cold, miserable trike riders are here once again....i think todays ride was about as cold as when we first left Mo. And today we were riding from Conroe , Tx to San Antonio, Tex. Never got above 46 and cloudy and felt like it was going to rain any minute. Oh well cant have the best all the time...So we are stopped for the night at Boerne Texas. But a real Mexican rest next door.

Hey can any of you tell me why im all of a sudden losing weight?: I weighted again this morning and lost another ½ pound , im really excited but don’t know what im doing different....maybe what ever it was that it just broke the mold a little , enough to help ...the swelling has gone away too. the only thing I know of that  Im not doing is drinking so much water. I read where Dr. H. Said that any water more than 64 oz was over kill so am trying to keep my intake down some...i normally drink on some days almost twice that amount. So I would guess that might be what is keeping me bloated and weight from coming off ....wow would be great if it were the answer.....

Joe and I just came back from running across the street ( and yes we did run at least across the street) to wallgreens....busy street out there....had to run to the middle then wait and run to the other side. Lol I really surprised myself and was able to do it lol

COR::::: good to see baci on this thread....we are being careful but the staying warm is more in Gods hands lol. Seems like he wants us to be cold right now. Oh im not Peggy but the protein soufflés would be really good for you...they are soft and would be easy to eat for anyone that is in your stage I would think

Wow what kind of job did you get that you can come in anytime you want to lol now that is a good time to go to work ...that is the kind of job I would love to have but im sure everyone would....my Dad use to say he wanted a job where they didn’t need anyone, and they would mail him his check lol he was a hoot.

SUSAN::::: well glad I didn’t send all the sunshine to you hopefully they will send it back to me since it fell apart lol I guess it didn’t like to be contained.

How was your visit to the doctor.....

Oh yeah just wait till you see how cold you will get after surgery and you have lost a lot of weight. You will be looking for sweaters, underwear and heavy socks etc. ...i have a good selection of all of them any more lol

BEC:::::::I had been  using my gazelle too before we left on our trip.. good exercise isn’t it?boy im really glad I found those boots too ....my feet didn’t get cold at all today.love them that is for sure....

Have you talked to Jeanine ? I would think their house would be partly put back together by now ? let me know ok.  Yeah maybe we can all meet somewhere  at a half way point well if Im back anyway....help get rid of the blas.

SUSIE:::::::: well you must be from the deep deep south to be so eager for snow. Lol  yep it is really hard to keep yourself in clothes as you lose....most of the time I only had one outfit that fit me and looked good the rest of the things I wore were just sweats until I leveled off. It wasn’t easy for sure....

Glad your husband is feeling better. I hope the rest of his test all turn out good and things can all be fixed.

SUGAR::::::I just thought she might be a littlw older since I know that Chloe is 10 . they just all are growing up way to fast..and I know that Ember is beautiful , to me she looks like Rachele and you.

Hope you and Ember had a great time today...

POOH BEAR::::::: I think everyone wants spring time. Deb...i didn’t know that Rhubarb needed cow poop to fertalize them....straight?  didn’t know that? Maybe that is why they never grew good for me. Thanks for that info....

Boy it sure sounds like Nikkis mom is a piece of well you know and I don’t but she sounds like she needs to never see that little girl again.

Im so glad that the baby is doing good...i know all of you are having a good time with him.

Im sorry if I made you feel bad sweetie , I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings....i know that 80 grams is suppose to be the normal level but sometimes it if the bones are bad a short time of more protein will help....for most people over 80 is bad. So you are right...

I hope you had a great day today, even if you did have to stay inside....maybe it will start being warm again soon and you can start collecting Cow Patties. .lol

Love all of you and miss all of you ...

LOVE AND HUGS

GOD BLESS.

Here is what i found on fertilizing rhubarb.

How to Grow Rhubarb:

Before planting, select a location where they will not be disturbed for years, and where they will not be in the way when tilling your garden in future years. Rhubarb can be planted in partial shade, but prefer full sun.

Being easy to grow, Rhubarb will thrive in most garden soils. But, it will reward you when compost and manures or fertilizers are added. Use a general purpose fertilizer or high nitrogen mixture for well established plants to promote leaf and stalk growth.

Make sure ample water is in the soil during the harvest period. After harvest, don't forget to provide water to keep your plants healthy all year long. As a rule of thumb, when watering the rest of your garden, water the rhubarb.

Healthy Rhubarb will grow and spread. Separate or thin the plants every five years, or sooner if the plants become crowded.

Manure is an extremely valuable source of organic matter as it helps to conserve moisture, preserves the soil structure, and makes nutrients readily available. Fifteen tons of manure should be applied per acre before planting for commercial growing or one to two shovels per plant for home gardeners. An application of composted manure or leaves is beneficial in late fall and early winter, but do not cover the crowns as this may promote rotting. Fresh manure should not be used as this will burn the tender rhubarb plants

lol tihanks for the info , from what you were saying i thought you ment fresh cow poop.....lol
I use composted horse poop or cow poop on everything i grow. every spring before i plant my new annuals i spread  layer of composted horse poop most of the time over all my flower beds and then as i plant it gets mixed into the dirt....i know the flowers love it.....do you grow a big garden?
I cant wait to get started getting my hands in the dirt again....

What a day I had yesterday.  I went for my 3 month check up in Columbia.  I really hate that drive, but alas its saved my life.  I won't complain to much.  Anyway the appointment went great I've lost 70 lbs, and feel great. They drew 11 tubes of blood to check the vit levels.  I'm anxious to see how that turns out.  I got to see Renee she looks great and all the other ladies that have been attending the classes the same days from day 1. Everyone looks so different.  Then on the way home we decide to stop and have some lunch and I get a call from my grandma asking where I was.  I know immediately something is wrong, she says your grandpa is in the ER with a bowl obstruction and we need you here.  OMG I'm two hours away,  I call my friend that's a surgeon and he said he would take care of everything.  They admit him and this am he's having surgery.  He's 83, great health and with it like he was when he was 40, but I'm so worried.  Please pray for my grandpa and my family.  I appreciate it.  I've been working ALOT which I'm so very thankful for but I'm exhausted.  Thanks in advanced for the prayers.  I'm headed to the hospital.  Lou (~.~) p.s. Deb your new avitar looks GREAT! U go girl!

Well I got to see some snow but it was tiny flakes and not enough to cover the grass. It has to cover the grass before it counts as real snow. I still enjoyed watching it. I didn't get much done because I sat looking out my back window.
I do have a wow........ I got into size 18P jeans. Told you the 14's were a mistake. I am wearing them today and even tho they are tight they are staying on. I had saved them for a long time. It must have been ten years ago that they fit. Funny thing is I weighed more then than I do know, Sometimes it pays to save things.

See all my BBF's at 2

Good morning to all.hope everyone stayed warm yesterday.sure was cold andy and i had to leave for branson at 700am and we were frozen the few minutes we were outside.by the time we got to branson it started to snow they got just a dusting so did forsyth and we even had some down here in cedar creek.then the sun came late yesterday afternoon.it felt good.supposed to be sunny today and 46.only 33 on sunday with a chance of snow shower's again, then 54 by wednesday.this weather sure has been crazy.we are glad jan those boot's keep your feet warm.we are happy also for your weight loss.we know you have been trying to lose some more weight for a while now.we wont know you when you get back.you and joe have a safe trip today please let us know how far you all got.everything is good here.i sent you some sunshine to keep you all warm when you are riding on the trike.

my doctor's app went good for me.my regular doctor said my lab's looked better.the only number that was slighty high yet was my triglycerides.my doctor gave me some fish oil pill's to take.you cannot by them over the counter.i am talking regular fish oil pill's but he said these would work on my body faster, and to take 2 of them a day with my other pill's.he gave me some sample's to make sure my body can handle them first.if they do call him and he said he would call me in a script to family pharmacy.

as for my foot doctor he said thing;s look good with my toe.it has a small crack on the bottom again but it is just the area where i get hard skin it is not a open wound thank god for that.he hope's when i get my diabete shoe's the cracking open will stop.he said it should.i found out yesterday that my diabete doctor finally got everything appoved with my insurance so i should be getting my shoe's soon.the reason the insurance denied the order for my shoe's the first time is because my diabete doctor did not give them the script my regular doctor did.the special insert's alone are about 100.00 dollar's a pair.i am getting a good walking shoe with good support.

tammy k we are happy to hear about your surgery.we know you are ready for it.you sure will look different and feel better too. we are praying for you please let us know how thing;s go for you.andy and i will be in columbia feb 24. i can hardly wait. i should have my surgery date that day.

bec look's the next couple of day's are going to be better for walking outside.i know your workout in your house will make you find body part's you did not know you had.lol.i sure do when i am on the treadmill.

barbara soo glad to hear baby is doing better before you know it baby will have that cast off.how are you feeling?

lol congrat's on your weight loss.are you coming to the cof meeting on the 26.andy and wont know you.

Jan,
I envy you and Joe heading for where it is warm especially Arizona.  I loved it out there.  I worked for Banner Health Care as RN for 6 months back in 2001.  Would love to still be a traveling nurse but the timing is not right now. You are losing wt. now and I wonder if it isnt because you are finally eating other food.  For a long time all you had was a lot of shakes.  I really think our bodies need the calories and vitamina , protein and minerals from food too.  Maybe this has shaken your metabolism into a different mode.  (Just my opinion)  Just drinking protein shakes is not how we should live after this surgery.  I hope you all have a wonderful trip, wish I could go somewhere too.  Colette
