Daily Bible Reading - Thursday Jan. 15
Isn’t it just wonderful how our lives change as we make our way on our WLS Journey? When we take God on the journey with us our lives are forever changed not on physically but spiritually and mentally. If you look back before you had WLS you’ll see a different you. You will probably see how you’ve changed mentally and grown spiritually but most of all how you’ve physically changed and become healthier. To be honest, when I’ve leave God out of my journey I find myself struggling big time, struggling mentally and spiritually but when I take God along on the journey things seem to be smoother and work better. Since reading and studying His word I find myself growing in ways I did not think possible. In reading today’s passages Proverbs really stands out at me today, it just seemed to really hit me between the eyes. Verse 16 says “Long life is in her right hand;
in her left hand are riches and honor." Having had the wls we now have longer life and in the end our lives are full of riches by having improved health, being off those meds you were on for years, being able to do things you couldn’t do before, isn’t our God so good. Verse 17 says “Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace." Isn’t your life full of good pleasures now that you’ve lost weight? We don’t need the pleasure of food anymore, we have other pleasures that are far better, having a healthier body, fitting into clothes you only dreamed about fitting into years ago. Going on this lifetime journey God has really filled my life with peace, more now then ever before, it’s a peace that is so hard to describe but yet so wonderful. Verse 18 says “She is a tree of life to those who embrace her;
those who lay hold of her will be blessed." When I read this verse I was like wow, being on the WLS journey is truly given me new life as it has each and every one of us. I have been so blessed being on this journey, not only physically blessed but mentally. God is so good, so so good, ALL the time. I can truly say that I am more blessed now then any other time in my life and I owe it all to God, its Him I give all the honor and glory, without having Him in my life I don’t think I would of made as far as I am and I know I would not be able to make it the rest of the way.
Well I better stop rambling before I put you all to sleep haha!! Hope everyone is staying warm. Have a really wonderful day.

2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou has done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
My grandfather always said to me, 'You plant your field, you have to harvest it.' We made ourselves overweight, and we either have to live with it or work to change it. It is foolishness to overindulge, but that doesn't stop us from doing it. Anyone who is overweight knows well that we have to pay for our foolishness. True wisdom comes from God. When we decide that enough is enough, that it is time to lose weight, we can know God will help us, especially through the toughest times. All we need do is ask. God is looking for ways to help us, but He always waits until His help is invited. Don't hesitate. Call upon the Lord, and He will hear you.
Today's thought: If we turn from our foolishness, God will bless us!
I was talking to my husband last night how fascinated I am with Genesis and how God makes a great nation from the fallen men. We have a tendancy to think that God only uses the perfect and Jacob is FAR from perfect. What a deceiver and yet God still uses him and his family. I also like to see how God uses sin (multiple wives was never approved by God) and makes a great nation. He is so faithful even when we are not.

Life isn't about about waiting for the storm to pass...
It's about learning to dance in the rain.
How right you are Peg about GOD using the fallen and sinful to build nations and HIS kingdom.
If we should glean anything from Genesis it is that no matter how wicked and sinful the man is, GOD will accomplish his will for the world.
Ive often said that GOD used all the messed up people in the Bible to teach us that HE can even use ME! I think he wants us to understand that no matter what Ive done wrong, HE can still use me. AND, no matter what Im doing right, HE is still the ONE in control. I LOVE THE LORD!
Keep it up Andy...Your words of wisdom are like honey to the sick soul.
GOD is my ROCK! SUGAR
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
How often have I gotten upset over some thing someone has said done when it reality it is so small compared to the buffeting of the devil that leads to behavior displeasing my precious Lord!
Kinda put things in perspective for me.
