anybody ever had to take repliva?
Sorry....I can't help you with this particular med. I take Chromagen for my anemia and it has helped. I do know that you need to take iron two hours apart from calcium due to absorption issues. Hope you get the info you're looking for.
Have a good day.

Hi,
I was on Repliva back in September. Dr. Hornbostel put me on it because my iron was very low as well. He told me to take it then wait until February to have my iron levels checked. I did take my vitamins while I was taking the Repliva. However, I can't remember if I took my daily iron supplements while I was on the Repliva. I would ask your Doctor about that one.
My Iron Level had been low for over a year. My PCP told me it was fine. Dr. H told me that it would be fine if I was not a gastric bypass patient. It was below 1/2 of what it should be for a gastric bypass patient. Dr. H told me he wanted it at least a 30 and preferably a 40. I asked him to explain this to my PCP via a letter. My PCP is like me, learning along with me about this new lifestyle. I also learned they like our Vitamin D level to be at least a 30 as well. Our B12 should be "high" because we are supplemental B12. All the other vitamin levels should be along what non-gastric bypass patients are.
The last time I went to my PCP, I took a sample of Repliva that Dr. Hornbsotel had given me to give to him. He took a look at it and said WOW, it has a TREMENDOUS about of Iron in it! Honestly, I don't think he even knew about it! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my PCP and he is a WONDERFUL doctor. It's just that I am his first RNY patient. So we are learning about all of this together as a team!
Hope this information helps you. I learned a valuable lesson. I cannot rely on my PCP to automatically know all about this gastric bypass stuff and I have to know what my vitamin levels are and know what mine should be.
Take Care,
Debbie D.
P.S. I would recommend taking a stool softener with a laxative during the time you take the Repliva.
