Got the shakes

Okay, I'm with 2-7 pounds of my goal weight, and for the last week I have been getting the shakes something fierce out of the blue. I haven't changed my diet any, and I still take all my vitamins. It hits out of nowhere and doesn't go away unless I eat or drink some juice. I got these back when I went through basic training and my drill said it was my body adjusting to the sudden suspension of blood sugar. If this is the same thing, can't figure why it'd be hitting now when I haven't been snarfing sugar since doggone MARCH!!! Any help appreciated.

Just thought I would write back as I experience the same thing and I am 3 years out.  It has nothing to do with u snarfing sugar.  Your normal blood sugar is going low thus the shakes.  Make sure that you eat a snack mid moring and mid afternoon and before bed.  I usually eat some cheese or form of protein ( a yogurt, or nuts or protein bar)  I find the bar helps me out and sometimes I only eat half of it .  I always carry something in my purse.  I just had my yearly labs all done and my doc said they were awesome.  My blood sugar fasting was 80.  Bingo!!!   If you have any further questions please email   Good Luck    Colette

Thanks so much! It was really starting to bug me and worry my family to boot! Guess I'll have to get my labs done soon so I can see how I'm doing.

yeah I agree it sounds like low blood sugar to me too.  I agree with eating a snack also.  Not sure how far out you are but fruit will help bring up your sugar level.  Dr H said in the meeting last Sunday that we can have fruit I think he said 1 a day.  I don't remember but it is a go--so try some pears or peaches or orange or something.  Hope this helps.  Our next Support Group meeting in Osage Beach is the 17th we'd soooo love to have you.  I hope you can make it.  Take Care
