HELP please Flying for the first time!!

Ok I need to know, I have never flown before and am worried I will have to purchase 2 seats on southwest. Have anyof you pre-surgery flown with them before? I can't afford 2 seats and would be so MORTIFIED if they take me aside for the 2 seat chat, I currently weigh 259 and am 5'5, I am in about a size 20-22 stretch jean. please if you have any advice I need it bad and QUICK, my mom is buying my ticket TODAY to leave dec 29, I should be estatic but I am not, just to danged worried over the da.n seat situation...please be honest~!! love and thanks, susy

Honey, don't worry I think you will be just fine.  I know the feeling though I felt like that when we went out for dinner and those dang booths, Lord I hated the booths.  But there is a lady on the main RNY board, I think her name is azskyprincess( her avatar is a pink dress cartoon) she works for southwest, you might check with her.  I have't flown in years, but I wouldn't think you would have any problems.  Best wishes! no they wont i was bigger than you are and they didnt charge me an extra seat....dont worry. you might have to have a seat belt extender but might not either.  have fun on your trip  sorry we were all busy when you needed an answer...

We fly southwest all the time and I think you will be fine.  I was 232lbs and I am 5'2 and could get in the seat and wear the seat belt it was all snug but it worked.  Stay positive, Raynetta

I used to just ask for a seat belt extender as soon as I got on (when they welcome you) sometimes they will give it to you right then and sometimes they will bring it to you later...but I was bigger than that the last time I flew and didnt have to buy a 2nd seat!!!

Just relax and have fun and hope you have a window seat...
