I want to thank everyone for their encouragement and support!  I went into Surgery on Tuesday at 8:00 with Dr. H and was in my room by 11:00!  My wonderful best friend stayed with me the entire time and my sister took care of my two lil ones!  My hospital stay was normal!  I was able to walk down to the cafeteria the first day and continued to walk a lot through out my stay.  I ran a little temp 100.8 but the Dr. did not seem to concerned just reminded me to stay on my breathing thing.  The things that bothered me the most my dry mouth and the catheter!  I want to thank everyone who offered their advice and encouragement and look forward to the road ahead!

congradulations , now your big job begins.  drink drink drink   and walk walk ...try to get in at least64 oz of water a day....every 15 mins or so drink one ounce...you will be surprised at how much you can get down....what kind of protein do you have ? the Isopure is really good for this first week especially since it is a see thru liquid you can have that and get to going on your protein. the more protein you can get in at this early stage the quicker you will heal and will help keep hair loss to a minimum later down the road.  read your white binder that dr. H. gave you the list of stuff in there for week one is your goal..

sugar free popsycles were my friend the first week especially but i still keep lots of them on hand for when i want something sweet...the cold seem to help my sore little tummy...

any questions you may have we are here for you. ok

Margie told me to get the protein bullets.  They are 3 oz and have 42 grams of protein.  I break them up and take 1 once am, afternoon, and before bed.  They are so nasty I have to plug my nose and just take it!  I sip on the isopure grape and orange throughout the day and have found a new love for jello.  I also got a pill crusher and have been taking my calcuim and flinstones with iron.

Thank you! I couldn't agree more.  I hope that I can help those who have the jitters like I did!! This site helped me walk through it and now I want to help others if I can!
