Good Morning, Missouri Peeps!

Just got off the from with Margie from Dr. Hornbostel's office.  She said all of our bloodwork should be within the "normal" normal range as for non gastric bypass patients with the EXCEPTION OF THE FOLLOWING:

FERRITIN    30 - Dr. H likes it to be at least 30

VITAMIN D  30 - Dr. H likes it to be at least 30

B12                    -  Dr. H likes it to be HIGH; he expects it to be high because we supplement it.  My results show the normal range to be between 247 and 911.  Mine was 1256.

Hope this helps you all as much as it helps me.  I started taking supplemental Vitamin D a year ago because my CFS/Lyme Disease doctor ran the test and said it was really low (single digits).  My last Vitamin D test was 38!  Yeah for me! lol

Take care,

Debbie D.

P.S.  I LOVE Dr. Hornbostel and Margie!  I truly feel the Lord blessed me with him as my surgeon.  They both have taken GREAT care of me!  You should check with your own surgeon to see what levels he expects for his gastric bypass patients.  I would guess they will be the same (or close) but still check with your own surgeon.

Mama Jan:

That is strange that yours would be low.  Did you know that Vitamin D helps you to absorb calcium?  I found that out about a year ago too.  So Vitamin D is VERY important!

Have a great day!

When they took my blood this this time I had a different nurse do it and she said some was not suppose to see the light and she had tin foil around some of the vials, that was the first time they had did it that way.....vesta

Vesta:

Would you mind sharing your vitamin regime with us?  I would be interested in knowing exactly what you're taking and getting such great results with.

Interesting about the tin foil...I'm going to discuss that with my PCP next time I have my bloodwork done.

Take Care,

Debbie D.
