WHATS HAPPENING SATURDAY
I am the fellowship coordinator at church and am trying to get ready for a baby shower tomorrow and then the church anniversary potluck is next Sunday. I need to make sure and all the plates and things are stocked since I don't think I will make it next Sunday...too close to my gall bladder surgery. Don't want to chance it. Then I've been getting things planned for here the 19th (big smile) and then there will be the Thanksgiving Banquet at church....I think I'm going to be ready for a vacation! I'm not doing as much work as Sugar did for her people, tho, what a job. You rock, girl!
Aunt Margie is trying to insist that she can go downstairs and do her own laundry...and while she was telling me this she lost her balance, just while standing still. What am I going to do with her? I told her that she could take that up with Mark...he does not want her trying those stairs again. She can hardly walk as it is because of her knee replacements. She went down because all the rain was leaking in her basement and her sump pump is old and has to be moved once in a while to get it to run. She knows she's supposed to call one of us and we'll come help her....but she did it on her own. Then she almost couldn't get back up the stairs and now she thinks she can do her own laundry. She's going to be the death of me. But we are all she has in this area...and she loves my husband and kids dearly.
I better get started, have a great Saturday, all.
Peggy
Boy has it been a busy busy week!
Oh how blessed I was to have Debbie D. in my home this week! She is such a wonderful lady! She brought me this wonderful glass ball that is a sun catcher I can't wait to take it out on the porch this afternoon and see what it does!!!! this is so cool too and she did not even know it .. the primary colors it looks like to me are purple and green just wonderful to go with my grape motif out there on the porch.... I will have to have Paul make sure it is secure and won't get broke!!! Thank you so much Deb ..... you were so wonderfully sweet to bring me that! The Lord sure does bless our time together it seems! We are getting to know each other better a bit each time we get to spend time with one another... it's wonderful... I guess you really know someone when you know where there "warts" are so to speak... she found out some of mine! ~tee hee I was not kidding when I told you all I did not deserve all the wonderful things you all always say about me.... any good thing that comes from me is a direct result of the Lord shining thru me in spite of myself!!!!
She got a long way on the surprises I am bringing to those that get to come to my Nov. 19th luncheon... well I guess it really is Peggy's luncheon now... ~tee hee I am praying HUGE blessing on her for doing this and so early out of gb surgery.... Peggy.... I want you to know you can change your mind if you need too! You are a doll! I just know this will be a wonderful time together for all that get to come.... I have a couple more days of work on the surprises and they will be done....
An update on the pain I have been having: I could tell this week that I made so much progress! I still have pain but not near as much as before and I have only take one of the three bottles of pain meds I had..... Seems like every thing is aching again.... going to try my lessor pain meds now again to walk and see if I can get along with that. I am so thankful that that searing pain in my side is better I even realized that I could sleep on my side again! Oh Glory!!!!! One week made a big diff!
Am going to try and get out this afternoon and get some yard work done if I can muster up the energy.... I'm kind of tired but have so much to do that I really can't afford to set down too much....
Mimi ~ I hope all the work Jo is doing on your green house helps it get much better "gas mileage" ~ha.... I have to get a couple plants transplanted and in the house today! and get some mulch on some things too.... do I need to mulch my hydrangeas before it frosts? or just for the snow and icy winter?
I had to laugh about me mixing cookies in the cement mixer! Now don't give me any ideas..... I'm on the "reduction" routine now....~tee hee You wouldn't know it by my activities sometimes... I really didn't mean to get 6 bushels of apples until i tasted the Winesap apples and then added two more to the cart! They were extra good this year!
Did you get my e~mail to your new address last night? I seen on HGTV one time they took a cheap arbor... one like you get at Michael's for weddings..... they worked the tulle all thru it and then put what ever flowers that matched the room on it and put it over the head of the bed it was simply stunning and very neat for a little girl or even an older one you could change the adornments as they got older.... maybe rattles when they are a baby, stuffed toys when they are grade school, cd's, make up, etc. when teens, and then flowers when they get older or a mix of things.... my mind is just running wild with possibilities! ~ ha
I made the Splenda apple butter ... Deb said David would like it but I thought it was a bit too strong.... I am going to tweak it a bit and see if I can get a better taste..... will post when I think I have it "just right"....
You let us know what the doc says about your blood count when you know... I am praying it is as you think and only something minor!
I am still praying for your daughter! I'm so very thrilled that she is doing so well! Such a vivid showing of how the Lord has our lives in His hands!
Janet ~ oh you sweet doll you! I got the pics in the mail I was thrilled!!! Simply thrilled! Can you believe that I forgot to take a pic of Debbie D. while she was here! I'm disgusted AGAIN I did not take a pic of {{{Deb}}} when I was with her either and I even laid the camera out so I would not forget! How will I EVER get all the pics I want if I don't do better than this.... it's when I get with all of you I am so excited that I forget all reason!!!! ~ha But Oh MY GOODNESS those were GREAT pics of you and Renee! Thank you so very very much!!!! And..... what a sweet card you sent too.... I don't deserve to be loved like that!!!! But it sure feels GOOD!!!! I LOVE YOU TOO!!!!
I am praying that your sil gets that job! It would be so wonderful!!! I'm sorry you fell again! You are sure in my prayers! And I know it will be so difficult to get the ashes but know that God can give you a peace that passes any understanding of the situation! I am praying to that end!!!! I'm thankful that you felt better in spirit yesterday... those days always seem to help us get thru the ones that are not so good. I would love to see some of Steph's art work! I sure hope you get some of her work to put in your house to be proud of... maybe it won't be long before you get the frame you have for the piece she just did... I have to get out there this afternoon and do some yard work too.... so much to do it seems....
Sugar ~ I wished I lived closer I would come help you with those Senior dinners I LOVE to work with the seniors and I LOVE parties too! I would of been more than pleased to peel all those taters too!
You dear lady are more of a gad about than me! Tulsa? Goodness!
I think Paul and I's next "date day" trip is going to be to Jamesport it is about 70 miles from us I think..... Hope to meet Deb D. and her husband there sometime too.
Vesta ~ I WANTED to go on that trip with you! Sounds like right up my alley! I sure hope you have/had a wonderful time!
Renee ~ I'm so happy that you got some issues worked out with your daughter.. and I know you will look "fine" in what ever you decide to wear to the wedding.....my big bootie does NOT like dresses right now but maybe next spring it will think more kindly of them! ~tee hee
I'm sure sorry that Tiff is having the overactive bladder problem .... I am praying that it is something they can fix easily with meds and not something more serious!
Cor ~ I am thinking of you! I know how very discouraging it can be with the insurance... I had to go thru that for sooooo long but you hang in there and we will be hoping it will eventually go thru! We should get together some time... do you ever go to Sedalia? That might be a good place for us to meet if you ever have the time?
Jeanine ~ Oh boy I can't wait till Thursday! I'm very excited to meet you and your husband! Another "real" face to a wonderful friend! I've just been so blessed since surgery to meet so many new ones face to face!!!
Barbara S ~ Do you do crocheting or knitting? I do some crocheting but I can't read a pattern I have to have my sis show me how to do it and just memorize what I am suppose to be doing.... If I can remember will bring some of the pieces I have done to show you on the 19th... I've only done three and then made a couch for my pooch.... he loved it but he took his paws and scratched before he laid down and the roughed up the stitching... so I need to redo it on the bottom cushion.... I even made a mini afghan to go over the back and pillows to match that he really did lay his head on ... it was too funny.... he would throw a leg off it!... it was hilarious how many positions he got in on that couch!
Tammy Ammy ~ It is so good to see you posting again... your sweet smiling spirit is always a pleasure! You've been a busy lady traveling around. It just makes me so happy when anyone one tells how much more they can do than they could before surgery... it is so inspiring!
I'm so thrilled about your son getting his diploma!!! How wonderful! I know how happy it makes me when my girls accomplish a goal they have set for their self.... it's like it happened to me! ~ha
Nanny Again!... that is just supper! How many times does that make for you? Oh boy I can't wait to be "Nanny Bec"!!! ~ ha It is precious that you are going to go with your daughter in law.
I will try and send the pecan pie recipe.... Sugar posted it and I can't wait to try it!!! She is even going to bring it on the 19th!!! I simply can't wait! It was one of my fav's for the holidays and I just new I would never be able to have it again.... I even have fresh pecans to make one with this year thanks to dear dear {{{Deb}}}!!! Oh happy day!!!!
Sheila ~ Your new avatar is so sweet! I sure hope you are doing better I am praying that when you go back to the Dr. everything will be alright and you will not have to have another surgery! The pic you posted of the wounds just made me want to cry for you! I'm so very sorry you had to go thru that! Keep your head up dear lady... things are going to get better for you I just know it!
Susie ~ want to send you a word of encouragement about the diet... I did not have to do it but 2 days.... I did alot to prepare for my surgery and I'm so glad I did ..... I know this diet is hard but you will be so proud of yourself that you accomplished such a big big thing!!!! I am praying that you have even and easier time than I did and that you do not stall for 3 weeks right out the gate like I have!!!! Hang in there I know it doesn't seem like it to you now but in just a very short while you will look back and say I can't believe a whole month has past since I had surgery. I'm praying the diet will get easier for you each day!
Sangie ~ how you doing lady... I'm so very thrilled that you had such a good support group meeting .... I loved looking at the pics. I do not know some of the folks you had there but I'm thrilled you all got together and had such a good time!
{{{Deb}}} Isn't it wonderful that the Lord provides just who we need at the time we need it! The apples do smell wonderful!!! I even take the peels and put spices in them and make potpourri out of it to burn on the stove to smell up the house on the days I am not making anything that smells good.... it is wonderful! and no calories!!!
I am so very sorry to hear that Laura is not doing well ... please tell her I am praying for her and hoping the very very best for her and that she when all this is said and done that she will be doing so much better and will not have the troubles she has had thus far!!! I want very good things for her!!! I would love to see your house all decorated up with all the stuffs and lights! I love the holidays but I don't think I am going to get mine all out this year.... I just have to focus on what I'm doing here and I get distracted so easily and then before I know it I've not done all the things I'm suppose too. So I think I will not get it all out this year...
Sandy ~ I'm so glad that you did not have any infection! How much Splenda do you put in your apple pies? I'm going to be making some this next week. And don't know how much to use.... I thought the apple butter was too strong I put it in so am going to make some weaker this next batch and mix them together and see if I like it better.... so don't want to over do the pies.... do you use 3/4 cup or more?
Cindy ~ I am praying for a quick recovery and a very successful results from for you!
Angy ~ I wanted to thank you again for the map you made that is wonderful... did you send out copies of that yet.. if you did would you send it to me again I must have deleted it if you have. I'm like Peggy it sure does help to see the BIG picture of where we are all ...... that is why I am trying to get pics of the peeps so I can keep everyone straight and it sure sure helps me when I am praying to keep everyone straight in my mind... there are so many now and even those I don't even know all that well... but goodness I sure want too!
Brenda and Dennis ~ you both are sure on my heart and I'm praying that you are doing better and are encouraged.... I am trusting the Lord to minister to you both...... He is so willing and able meet us right at the point of our need!
Lynette ~ I hope you are getting better each day and will find your "groove" in this new daily life we have to live.... I am still trying to work out a routine that works for me ...... I get in all my protein and vits and most days all my water... am trying to eat till I feel satiety at least once a day.... that gets to be a real challenge for me as I don't really know how to tell if I'm full..... believe it or not..... oh well I'll get it sooner or later and I know you will too..... I'm praying for you!
Blondie ~ have not seen you post in a bit ... maybe I missed it .... but hope all is well with you.
Bev B in Sedalia ~ I wish I lived just a tad bit closer I would walk at the trac with you! Oh how fun would that be! I might just work it out with you when I'm going to be in town if you would like?
Bev in KS ~ I just love to see your new Avatar... your new hair looks simply wonderful! You look so much happier! I remember when you were having your surgery and struggling so.... my goodness look how far you have come!!!! I think I am going to go Tuesday if they can get me in and get my hair cut... don't know for sure what I am going to do with it.... maybe get it cut like the wig I'm going to get? not sure what to do but I'm just simply exasperated with it!
Andy and Susan ~ I'm glad you are both doing better and pray you will continue to see even more improvement!
Liz, Jen, Layla and any others I've failed to mention... I pray the Lord will be with you and bless you greatly!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Gee Willikers it took me all morning to write this!
My bellybutton is still sore and it has finally quit draining and the redness is lessening.
Still trying to decide if I want to go to springfield next weekend or not especially now that gas prices are down. It will depend on if the kids have plans or not. Son is bringing grandaughter up when he comes up for deer season so we can have some girl time together. I am getting excited about that!
Take care Sandy (shannon)
I have been crocting since I was 12, lets see that is .....46 years.....

I got bored with that...I guess if I like something it takes awhile...LOL So, just started knitting about 3 weeks or so ago. I am new at it but, have picked it up pretty quick. I read patterns. I will have to teach you. It is not that hard I know you can learn it. We will work on it together..OK?

Hi Aunt Jan and OH Peeps~
Hello there. Hope you are all having a great Saturday and that your Sunday will be even better! I just spent about an hour doing my post and my responses-just to LOSE EVERY WORD OF IT! So, now I dont have the time to retype it all. Something on this site-because I havent been having any problems and have been just posting IN the thread and havent been having to do it in wordpad and then copy and paste. Guess I will stick to whats true to me-which is copy and paste-LOL... Could have just gone in and re-copied it! LOL....Gotta keep my sense of humor today, or else I think I would cry for sure!
Our field trip yesterday was AWESOME! We didnt even let Mother Nature ruin it for us! Instead, we snubbed her and did what WE wanted anyway-we were not letting the rain or dampness ruin our day together! It was really windy, AND the wind had a chill to it-which kept us from eating outside-we were going to go eat in one of the shelters at the park in Joplin, however-it was too windy and cold. Jon JUST started to feel better and now both boys are TRYING to catch colds-so I wasnt about to be out there in the wind for an hour while we picnic'd and did some of our learning lessons. The boys got to be in charge of the picnic foods solely. We ate peanut butter and jelly, and then Darrel had pringles, Jon had pretzels-they packed a yogurt for me, then they had made SCARY Rice Krispy treats for the prize. They were green!! LOL.....The hospital pharmacy where I get my scripts filled-LOST them-and so while the boys were packing our picnic basket-I got a call that they had finally found them and so we went to get those first. I was out of 3 of my meds and I was praying beyond prayers that they would be found before monday, or I knew it wouldnt be good!! PTL PTL PTL!!!! Ok-so on our way there, we past Shoal Creek low water bridge-and we saw a ton of ducks and geese-and we just happened to have our bread goodies for the ducks with us-in case they had them at the Audobon Conservation area-since the water is right there too. So-where the bridge (the falls) is-they now have picnic tables and such and the boys asked if we could eat down there and that we would "picnic" IN the Suburban and then we would feed the ducks/geese. So, while we ate-we played Eye Spy and then the alphabet game, using ONLY insects or animals. Nature stuff. When we were done eating, we fed the ducks and Mr. Jon took about 10 photos of the ducks, the beautiful changing leaves on the trees and the water. We then went and met Megan at the Audobon Conservation Center and once the bratty kids that were unsupervised except the 4 kids that were assigned to the teacher left-we got to actually learn all sorts of facts, go through the exhibits, have a couple of lectures about the snakes and such that are native to Missouri and also use the microscopes and then got to go through all the displays-say, of a dead bat, a skull and shell from a turtle, a HUGE snake skin, several different birds nests and so on and so forth. Outside-we did go on a small hike on the trail-and they have outlook places that have telescopes attached-and so that was nice. We did a hike while we were waiting for those kids to leave! The people at the Audobon Center actually closed the doors to the exhibit room, because those kids were trying to get the locks off the snake, trantula and centipede aquariums and they were standing ON the drawers they pulled out that housed the different birds nests and such and they were even yanking on the microscope knobs and the microphones that you use to hear different rare animal sounds and such....Holy Crapole'!!!! They were so bratty!!! Those employees kept just going in circles telling one this and one that-and other than the teacher-the other "adults" were standing there, just talking amongst themselves-and NEVER so much as said ONE WORD to those kids to get them under control. Actually, I believe those kids were more mature than those supposed adults-I HATE going somewhere and having that happen!!! Once we saw the bus load up with them, we headed back in- and we pretty much had the place to ourselves except for 2 other families-AND they opened the back exhibit back up for us!! Jon got photos of the snakes, waterfalls, more trees, cactus and so on...he loves that camera. He got that fisher price digital camera last year for Christmas and still faithfully uses it!!! HE LOVES IT!~ he zooms in and out-and does all sorts of cool stuff with it....diff colored backgrounds and the whole bit!
Well, then we went to two of the three second hand shops and we got the rest of Darrels costume, just as I figured we would. I also got him 2 prs of Levi 501s and they looked brand new and were 1.98 each-I got-get this-a canopy that hangs from the ceiling for Mackenzie-to hang above her crib. White, lacy and frilly, for $3! Then, I bought the boys that basketball hoop thats adjustable-in heigth etc, well-the standard basketball is way too big-the kid one is too small and the one that is "just right" for that particular hoop-was $6 and whenever I would remember, I didnt have the extra money and when I had the money-I wouldnt remember...anyway-Jon found it there-and it was .25!!! YAY... Anyway-I figured it all up and it should have been 18.75 for everything-and the guy only charged me 9.00 for all of it!! I couldnt believe it!! was pretty happy about it tho...no complaints. I did tell him that I didnt think he had rung everything up and he replied-yes, ma'am, I did-Cant I give a discount to a pretty lady??? AW.....Yep, I will take that discount-LOL!
Well, peeps...Mike has just come in the door. The ashes were delivered today and he was sitting in his tree stand and heard the delivery come up the driveway (they honk out here-in case you have dogs or whatever that will bite) and so he is in need of some lovin. I dont have time to respond to everyone individually, but I will try later when everyone goes to bed, ok?
I just want to thank Bec for the beautiful sympathy card-that meant a lot to Mike and he specifically asked me to make sure you knew that he really appreciated it. He was shocked that you did that when you dont even know him-but he did say it made him feel good-so THANKS Bec!
Oh-and Jan....I would love to have some e/e and I will bring YOU some sweet potatoes-hows that? I appreciate it!
I will talk to you all more later-but thanks for all the prayers-for those that need prayer-I am praying a blanket prayer over ALL of you and love you all to peices! Cant wait to see Jeanine Monday!!! Sheila-Hope Rach can drive you!!! Deb(Pooh) hope your better soon-can tell by the tone of your post your still not yourself. Love ya girl and prayin for you.... Any news on Laura? Praying for her too! Love and prayers to you all, Janet
