harder than I expected
Just wanted to throw this out there for ya , I did the slimfast shakes on the liquid diet but to me they were really sweet so i tried the EAS AdvantEDGE carb control and it was alot better not as sweet 17 grams of protein 2 g net carbs and comes in choc fudge, vanilla and strawberry cream i think. But to me it was alot more tolerable than the slimfast.
Good luck and Have a GREAT day.

Your not alone it was a hard for pretty well everyone thats had to do it....So we all know what you are going thru and will definitly be praying for you.....
I got to do my liquid diet for 3 months as I had to loose 50lbs before I could have my surgery.....That first week was a killer but then it does get easier.....
I made and froze crystal lite and shaved it or chunked it so I could feel like I was having a lil treat.....And the SF fudge pops aren't bad at all......
Keeping you in my prayers.....Luv & Hugs....Tammy~ammy

I am so sorry, I am sure this is going to be the hardest thing you will have to do for a long time. I have to do liquid from now on everytime I have to have surgery for about 3 days because that bowel prep makes me really sick. I sure hope things get easier for you as the days goes by. I have the recipe for that head hunger soup you could make it and strain it so you leave all the veggies out and let your hubby eat that part of the soup let me find it and post it here for you. It may make you feel better. I remember you saying you don't like tomatoes so just leave those out and add more broth to take the place of the V8 juice. Just add another veggy you do like to make a taste you like. Hey it's worth a try as long as you don't eat it right? Good luck and keep me posted. I wish you would of yelled at me this morn I would of met up with you and got a starbucks protein drink,...I haven't tried them yet. I know they are going to be 5 bucks I'm sure. I got me some more of those protein shots tonight, and I found a unflavored soy protein at wally world in columbia I'm going to try. Any way call me if you need someone to talk to.

Head Hunger Soup
6 lg green onions, sliced
1 lg white onion, diced
5 stalks celery, chopped(tops too)
2 lg green peppers, diced
3 whole carrots,sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1(20 oz) can tomatoes, diced
1(48 oz) can V-8 juice
1/3 c beef boullion granules
1/4 tsp celery seed
2 tsp tarragon
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp liquid smoke
1/2 head cabbage, chunked
1 bag frozen green beans
water
Spray large stock pot with cooking spray.
Heat over medium heat.
Saute onions green peppers, celery, and carrots until onions begin to wilt.
Add garlic and stir well. Add tomatoes and V-8 juice.
Stir well. Add next ingredients stirring well after each addition.
Add water just to cover. Bring to a slight boil and reduce to simmer.
Cover and let cook for 1-2 hours. (I like my veggies crunchy so I use less cooking time)
Remove bay leaf. Divide into freezer containers. Place one container in your fridge and the rest in the freezer.
Remove and enjoy as needed.
Contributer's note: I created this to have when those head hunger pains would strike and I just needed to eat something.
You can change the flavors by adding different herbs and spices, as well as a variety of veggies.
The combinations are limitless.
But this is my favorite one. Many of you will recognize that it is based on the old "Cabbage Soup Diet" recipe.
