I got this from the recpie forum and thought of you when I read the bottom.  Maybe you can make this before thursday!!!  I've been racking my brain to think of something for you to eat before thursday with the pain from the braces...I'll keep searching---love ya girl

Pizza Potatoes

1 box of Betty Crocker Scalloped Potatoes
1/2 lb ground beef, Italian sausage or pepperoni
(I use some of it all sometimes)
1 can of tomatoes diced
1 T Italian spices
1/4 t garlic powder
1 1/2 c water
1 pkg shredded mozzarella cheese

Brown meat put to the side. Combine tomatoes, water and spices in sauce pan bring to a boil.  In a baking dish (9x9) dump the potatoes and sprinkle the sauce mixture (dry) over them.  Pour in the tomato mixture and stir it in, then add meat mixture.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes then top with cheese and bake another 5 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and starting to brown just a touch.   Serve with a salad.

My kids loved this when they were growing up. Especially when they came back from the orthodontist they would puree some in the blender and eat it because it did not bother their mouth!!

I took a pain pill and managed to eat some ribs. I came home from work and my DH had already started them. It took me awhile and I had to cut the meat from the bone first. Boy were they good. I hope you are correct when you tell me my taste will change after surgery. I would be much better off not liking foods like this. Tomorrow night , my last meal, we have to be at church and they are having tacos. As great as my DH is he even volenteered us to clean up after, He forgot I have to leave home at 3 AM to be in Sedalia at 7:30 . He may have to go alone. I am fine with my ice cream but I appreciate you thinking of me. Whats one more day when I am changing for a lifetime.

I'm glad you got to eat something!!!  Yes your taste buds will definately change---nothing tastes the same anymore.  NOthng has that OMG this is sooo good taste.  But I guess that's a good thing huh lol.  I never ever liked onions before surgery---not my whole life---now I can eat them when they are cooked in things ( I even cook with them) and I can eat green onions on top of things.  Before I was always asking for NO onion at all.  Sometimes I still get things no onion just because of habit I guess but I can eat them now.  Chicken broth will be your fav right after surgery.  Because it TASTES like FOOD and it's warm and your mind thinks hmmm I'm eating!!!  I STILL drink ALOT of chicken broth--I use it when I have those emotional eating times or at night when I think I should be eating something---I drink the broth and trick my brain into thinking Im eating.  I hope you have a good meal tomorrow.  Good luck on Thursday.  Not much longer now.  16 days and counting
