What to expect right after surgery
well I haven't had my surgery yet, I'm looking at everyone's posting and reading there blogs , learning more and more about what I'm about to do in a couple of weeks, I have been struggling with my weight for over 20 years im currently at a weight of 277 Im 5'5 so I'm pretty overweight, I'm just here for support and wanting to meet others who is going through what about to go through on my journey to loose weight, so for I have seen the advantage and disadvantage in the surgery , but I am I firm believer ,if you want something out of life , u have to go through some things to achieve those things so I believe I am ready for the challenge and if not I have other people in this world who knows what I am going through .. just a thought and wanted to get my thoughts out there and hope to meet and make friends on here
Darline welcome to the Mo. board...it is a great place to be for info that is sure. the good the bad and the ugly of weight loss surgery is here in each and every ones story but like you said anything worth having is worth a little sacrifice and work...the surgery isnt a quick fix, it is hard work and for the rest of your life. but it does give you a tool to work with. ...Im happy and glad that i had RNY and would do it again every year if i had too. ....come back often and let us get to know you.

GOD is my ROCK! SUGAR
Hi Darline!!! Welcome to the Missouri Board! I started out about the same height & weight as you, so I know how you feel. This is a GREAT place to come for info & friends, everyone is sooo nice & always willing to help you. I had Dr. de la Torre & all surgeons are different, but if you want to go to my profile & read in my August Archives, I explained everything that I went thru at the hospital & stuff. Remember that everyone reacts to surgery differently. I was waddling around like a big fat duck at the hospital & my room mate who had surgery just before me, was doing GREAT! The gas that they fill you with was the worst thing for me. Walk, Walk, Walk is the only thing that they tell you will help, some say Gas X strips help. I would definitly take them just in case. Also a good lip balm, because you will be parched by the time they let you drink anything. Do you have to do the 2 wk preop diet? Good luck to you!!! Please keep us posted on how you're doing & ask ANY questions you might have. Dont be shy!! (((HUGS))) Angy
