Could My Gall Bladder Surgery Mess Up Gastric Bypass?
I am just wondering if the gall bladder surgery could go wrong some how and mess up my Gastric Bypass? I am starting to have serious pain on my right side and I am not sure if it is my Gall bladder, but I cant think what else it would be? I realize that alot of ppl have the Gall bladder surgery after Gastric and I am probably just worrying, but Dr. H isnt doing it. I have to do it here as I dont have child care or $ to go up and down the highway to see Dr. H. Please, someone put my mind at ease. I am sure there are very little deaths due to Gall bladder surgery, I am sure I probably had more chance of dying with Gastric Bypass, but just the same I am worried and scared now that the pain is coming on much more strong now. I have an appt for the surgeon on Tues. Hopefully, I can last that long. The pain started last night ( some ) now it is getting worse. If anyone has had this done, please tell me something good!! ~Lori
Jan, I really appreciate that. I mean it, I am scared and I am in such bad pain and feel so awful that I hope to get it out very soon! I am getting nauseated just from my water. I know one reason I am unable to do the protein drinks is because of the Gull Bladder. I hope that I can get it done asap!! I know if I am feeling much worse I am going to the ER. Thank You, for the prayers! I really need it. ~Lori
P.S. For those of you who dont know me that well, I am a scardy cat and worrier LOL. I DONT like surgery!! Thanks again for the prayers *&* good thoughts.

I do not think there would be a problem with the GB but let them know. I know the pain from a bad gallbladder, I first thought I was having a heart attack when mine messed up. I had so much inflammation I was to sick for surgery and spent three days in the hospital on iv and discharged to recover enough for surgery. I had three days of medium pain from the surgery and was released to go back to work after one week. I still had staples in and the guy said I could go back to driving a school bus. I did the smart thing and took an extra week off. For the surgery they kept me in the hospital 23 hours. I have a friend who just had hers out last week and she was only there about six hours total. You will be fine so do not get to worried. We will be praying for you.
Your GB surgery will be a cake walk. It is far less painful. I've had mine out. Had it done on a Friday was back to work on Monday. They were telling me in Columbia they are starting to do them with one port. Here in Springfield they use 3 ports, and they are all pretty small. You will do just fine and you will feel so much better. My friend has hers out the day before my RNY and she came over yesterday looking like nothing happened. Everything will go smooth, you will be fine and you will feel better. Best of luck! Lou (~.~)
just make sure that your surgeon knows that you have had gastric bypass surgery , gall bladder surgery is very minor compared to the gastic bypass. it is almost outpatient surgery ...you will be fine and will feel so much better after it is over. the stomack problems you have been having will probably all be solved so get the surgery done as quickly as you can ....it will be ok...we will pray you thru it.
