Dumb question!!

Ok I went to my dr. my old one left while I was seeing dr. H , went in and found out she was gone!!! I just loved her, she had a brother who had RNY so she really knew everything I needed, anyhow I went in to have my blood sugar tested ( ac1) (it came back PERFECT)  I also asked them to check my blood levels, iron etc. the Dr didn't know what I was talking about, I explained about my surgery and the need to have my "vitamins levels" checked ,for lack of a better term. What am I supposed to ask for when I go in??? I keep thinking that maybe everything I needed to be checked wasn't. thanks all.
