Still waiting and so frustrated
So, I finally got approved, verbally anyway, when I called my insurance a week ago, they said I was approved and a letter would be going out. I haven't gotten anything yet. I called my surgeons office Wednesday, just to see what the next step was, I've had virtually NO communication from them in months, of course I had to leave a message, and they have not bothered to return my call. Even if they didnt' know anything, they could have called to just say we dont' have the letter yet, blah blah.
It's so frustrating. I just don't feel supported, I feel like I"m not important enough to them, like they don't really care what happens, the only people important to them are the ones having surgery that day? I don't know.
I got a email survey from them and boy it wasn't good what I filled out that's for sure.
So, maybe I'll know something NEXT week.
I was hoping for a Nov. 11th date, this is after I was originally hoping for a SEpt 15th, date, then Oct 6th, now now Nov 11th, all because they were behind on getting my paperwork sent in, and then insurance took 6 weeks to approve it. It's very difficult to for me to plan, my work schedule is done about 8 weeks in advance, so I have to know. I've been asking off for 4 week blocks since July. My poor boss, is happy to put me back on the schedule, but it's getting a little OLD.
If I have this surgery before the end of the year it will be a miracle, I'm pretty sure.
On the plus side, I've lost 25 pounds
woohoo

waiting is probably the hardest thing in the world and when no one seems to care that makes it really hard. Know that i care and so do lots of others on the board. ..
I would call the insurance company again today and ask where the letter was that said i was approved? and why it was taking so long?
I agree that your doctors office should be contacting you when you call.
Bless your heart i know you are so tired of waiting , just hang in there. Hopefully they will all get their act together soon.
WTG on the weight loss. 25 pounds is a lot to lose ....that is amazing.

When I call Dr. Price's office I will wait for a couple of hours and then call back, telling Nikki that I have not received a return phone call. She will usually go and get who ever I am trying to get a hold of so I can speak to them. That is one bad thing about his office. But, just know that you have pick a wonderful surgeon! He saved my life more than one time when I had my RNY. Please PM me if you want the details.

thanks for your support, I got the letter from insurance in the mail today. The very odd thing is that the letter is dated Sept 11th. and it is post-marked Sept 12th. How could that possibly be. My paperwork wasn't even submitted until August 11th.
I don't suppose that's a huge deal, but it says I have 12 months from the date of the letter to have the benefits blah blah.
Now that I have that letter in my hands, I'm sure the office does too. So I will call them again today.
I do feel confident with the surgeon. I at least feel like he knows what he is doing, but the office has gone through some changes and they still haven't gotten the kinks worked out, I guess. Personally I think they need more help. I think they have more patients then they can handle. I think they're doing more volume than what they were doing and it's too much.
