Iron.

Apparently my iron supplement is what is causing the black spot on my tongue. My doctor said she can tell that it is superficial so she is pretty sure it's my iron. She said I could try gargling with sal****er after I take it and see if that helps.
I'm glad it was nothing serious.

Brandy, I am so glad that it's nothing serious.  Do you take a chewable iron?  I wonder if a regular tablet type iron would do the same thing?   (((HUGS))) Angy

Im glad that it wasnt anything serious either. sort of funny now isnt it? is that a chewable that you take? Iron does have a lot of staining qualities. that is why when you give a shot of iron you z track it ..that way it doesnt leak out and stain your surrounding skin. i had forgotten that until just now.

Yes, I take the Bariatric Advantage chewable iron. I really like it, except for that staining quality.
It is funny. I really wasn't too worried because I wasn't having any pain, but I didn't want to just let it go and not know what it was.
Plus, it was kinda nice going to see my PCP and getting weighed and having the nurse and my doctor praise me for losing weight. A little added bonus!
