Off BP Meds

I saw my PC this morning and I'm officially off all meds except Synthroid and Ambien.  Pre-op I took 2 BP meds, Synthroid, Nexium and Ambien.  She told me I shouldn't take Ambien every night.  It's not addictive but will be habit forming.  I sleep so well with it, I don't want to think about not taking it but I'm going to cut back to half a pill.  I didn't sleep well for 10 years and then I started Ambien in April and it's been wonderful.

The doctor was very pleased with my weight loss.  I am too!!  I'm not the faster loser but I'm ok with that.  The past 3 weeks I've not had much loss.  I lose a couple lbs. then go up a pound, but I imagine my body is adjusting to the loss.  I know I'm losing inches because I'm getting into smaller clothes weekly.

I feel so much more energetic and so much better about myself.  I'm within 5 lbs. of being the lowest weight I've been for 16 years and getting very close to onederland.

Cor,

What is going on with your claim? Yes, I do have tri-care (active duty) and I was approved twice (once in 06 then found out I was pregnant literally a week later, LOL) and then again this May.

With Tri-Care you have to meet 2 of the criteria for WLS, for me it was:

I was 100+ pounds overweight
My BMI was in the 40's
I was on 2 blood pressure maintenance meds

With these co-morbidities I was approved but I have seen/heard of others that are close to 100 pounds overweight and are denied because the c.m. aren't there to quantify surgery.

I hope this helps you, let me know if I can answer.

P.S. Is your family active duty or retired????
