Moving to Missouri in November

Well, Hello!

Hubby is AF and we are reporting to Whiteman AFB in November.

Is anyone in/around this area (near Warrensburg/Sedalia).

 I went to school there, but don't live there anymore.  It's a nice base, but theres not alot to do around there.  Sedalia will be the best place to go shopping etc., but Warrensburg does have a big wal-mart so u shouldn't have a problem getting your protein.  Good luck with your move.

welcome to Mo. and to the MO board.  we are glad to have you. there are lots of girls on here now and then that their hubbys are stationed there. they tend to come and go i would think maybe they get shipped to another base . anyway hope we treat you so well that even when you are shipped somewhere else you keep in touch. lol
there are several girls i know that are from the Sedalia area too. so keep on hollering we are all here. just may take a couple of times hollering to get some of their attention. hope you post on the board a lot ....

Yay and thanks for the warm welcome! Hubby has been active duty air force for 17 years and counting, he started out at Whiteman so it will be nice to return however this will be my first time living there.

We are hoping to live on base, they have new homes and we need a 4 bedroom b/c we have 4 children who are 15, 7, 2 and 1 ~ yeah, I'm busy, LOL!

Currently stationed at Offutt AFB near Omaha NE, LOVE it here and wish we could take Omaha with us but moving to Missouri will put us about 3 hours from home (St. Louis).

Doing great on the weight loss front, It's been 8 weeks and I've lost 43 pounds and adding in my pre-op weight loss brings me to 65 pounds, yay!

Loving life and I'm on the final countdown to onderland, only 11 more pounds!

hi aims... I live in Warrensburg and love it. Just the right size to raise my kids...21 & 18 ...yeah almost done!!! lol...I havent had surgery yet still waiting on insurance  Were retired military and been here since 94. You all are not too far from retirement too...Great job on the weigh loss and hope to see you around the board

Hi! What Bariatric Surgeon are you seeing? I am newly post-op and will need a 4, 6, 8 and 12 month appointments with a new provider who accepts Tri-Care.

ETA: I saw you have Dr. Hornbostel as your Surgeon, I called the office today (yay the accept Tri-care) and his Nurse is going to call me back. I would like to have my surgery info sent from my current Surgeon to the new one when we move in case of complications ~ don't expect any but just when you don't expect it.........ya know how it goes!

You will love Dr. H's office they are all so nice.  I had my surgery 3 years in November.  Even now when I call them they get right back to me.  Dr. H and Margie are married and they will even have you call their cell phone and their number is in the book.  The new housing on base is gorgeous!  Have you seen it yet?  I saw it go up little by little, my husband works in Warrensburg and hi passes by there every day.  The colors of the houses are so pretty and there is a play gym right by your house---that would be so awesome.  Maybe I should have my hubby join up so we can live there? That's great to hear, I really want a GOOD surgeon that is good with his patients as well.

I haven't seen housing yet on base but have a few friends that I've made via internet that love it so far, we are just crossing our fingers that we can get in right away and won't have to wait 3-6 months for a house.

Yes, it would be GREAT to meet once we get there and settle down, it would be nice to have a friend that has BTDT with RNY, most people don't get it.
