Need a Bariatric Surgen in KC

Hello,

I moved to KC, MO from texas about 9mos ago, I leave in Kansas City North but work in Lees Summit at Unity Village. 

Anyways......I had a gastric bypass done in Nov 04,  I have been having pretty bad heart burn, I went back to Texas a couple of weeks and saw my surgeon.  He suggested I get a bariatric surgeon out here to do a scope, since I do not know many people much less surgeons, lol I am looking for a recommendation to a good one.

Oh and I would also like to know if there are any support groups out here.

Hi Melissa,

I am a pre-op patient with surgery scheduled for September 22nd.  I of coarse cannot tell you from experience but I have heard many many good things from others here on the board about Dr. Stanley Hoehn at Shawnee Mission Medical Center..... my hometown surgeon recommended him,  I have not been disappointed thus far.... and those that I have spoke with assure me adamantly that I am in good hands...

I know they have two support groups a month in diff locations... you can ask about it when you call....

Melissa welcome to the board. I dont know of a surgeon for you just wanted to say welcome and hope you will come on here more often. it is sort of like a online support group , of course you need to find an in person support group too but we welcome you here and hope you will come back.

I can second the vote for Dr Hoehn. He is a great surgeon and has an excellent staff.

I too think the world of Dr. Stanley Hoehn in Shawnee Mission Ks. Which is not that far from north of the river if you take highway 435. I will celebrate my one year anniversary the end of the month and have no complaints with the care I have received. I don't know if he will take on another surgeons patient but would be well worth the time to call and ask.

I'm with the rest...Dr. Hoehn is the best in KC.  Very busy but the best and his office staff is excellent.  I would give them a call and best wishes.

I highly recommend Dr. John Price at St. Luke's.  His number is (816) 932-5378.  He is just great.  I am a patient of his having had RNY July 8th.
