Little Changes Everyday

I'm seeing changes daily.  Love the change in clothing sizes.  I have many new items, some with tags, that I bought through the years and intended to get into them, but I never lost the weight.  Now, I'm wearing them and yes they are still in style.  It's so obvious in my tummy and rear and my face that's I've lost 30 lbs.

The last 2 weeks I've not lost but I'm not discouraged.  I'm sure my body is getting used to the change and I know I've lost inches.

This morning I had toast and PB.  I tried toast once before but it came back up.  Had a very small salad with crab meat, beans and chicken.  I still need to eat a little slower but I'm in the habit now of putting my fork down between bites.

This weekend I'm going to paint our front stoop.  DH has a cast on his ankle and can't do it.  I wouldn't have felt like doing the job a few months ago.  Going up and down steps is a breeze where before it was a struggle.

I'm so thankful for this surgery and the changes it has brought to my life.  Now I just need to get the pounds coming off for another 30!

I got a bunch of recipes from bariatriceating.com especially for WL patients.  I've also printed some from eggface.  My ice cream maker is on its way.  I won it on ebay.  Can't wait to make ice cream.

Again, I have to comment on the differences in doctors and nutritionists. I was not allowed bread of any kind, white potatoes, lettuce, rice or many of the things people now eat regularly. I don't know if it makes it easier or harder - for me I think it was easier to just lose the weight before introducing the "bad" things but since that's the only way I tried I can't really say. I do want to say I'm happy for all of you who've had surgery recently and who are doing such a great job of weight loss. Keep the faith and eat the way you have been taught. You will love your new life.
Hugs,
Lana

"WLS is about making better choices, a healthier lifestyle and seeing how little you can eat.  Portion control is the key to all weight loss surgeries.  Bottom line - it isn't how much you can eat - it is how little you can eat."

Oh!!!! to be able to eat ice ceam again.  That makes me so sick now.  The only ice cream that i can eat is a DQ vanilla orange bar.  Congradulations on your weight loss.  Layla

Layla, I wanted to make sure you understand I'm not eating or making regular ice cream.  The ice cream maker is to make protein ice cream.  I have a really hard time getting in my protein and I'm hoping I will love the protein ice cream.

I did get some no sugar ice cream but don't care for it.  DH has ice cream a lot but I'm not tempted.  So far I've not had any dumping and don't want to.

Jo,
Sounds like you're doing great!

I am looking into getting an ice cream maker too so I can make eggface's protein ice creams.

What kind did you get?

I got the Donvier.  That's the brand eggface uses.  I bid on many on ebay but kept getting out bid.  This time I used the bidding assistant and got one for $7.50.  Of course the shipping charges were outrageous.  I looked locally but couldn't fine the Donvier and reviews on a lot of the other brands weren't good.

Can't wait to get it.
