Olay my surgeon says no meats right now.  My question is what is the main reason?  Is it consistancy or content?  I was curious about puree'ing meats or trying meatless organic products.  Any ideas?  I honestly am not sure I will ever eat alot of meat again but was curious.

meats are hard to digest they are considered very dence protein. and tummys arent ready for that yet....may take a long time before it is ready. ...i at two years still cant eat steak or chops or roast . most of the meat i eat is hamburger meat in different ways.
i can eat chicken if it has some sort of sauce to make it moist. most fish baked or anyway isnt going to happen either.
so all of that is why i still get i would say about 95 % of my protein thru shakes.

Moist chicken will not be an issue to make for me.  I do alot of crock pot chicken where it just falls apart.  So I wonder how hard it would be to digest organic meatless meat.  guess I need to ask my NUT?  I also know she told me no red meats for 3 months.  I was wanting to make this recipe with corned beef hash and blend it up...not a good idea I suppose?

I'm 7 weeks out and still can't digest chicken very well unless it's chopped very fine like in a salad.  I tried pork the other day, cutting into very, very small bites.  Still had a little trouble with it.  Ground beef goes down well and fish.

If the doctor says not I wouldn't pu****  I keep my doctor's instructions on my refrigerator so I'm reminded often of what the rules are.

i did too Jo, how are you getting along? need to see more of you. yes it takes a while and lots of trials and failures when you get out far enough that your pouce is healed and the dr. says go for it then is the time of trial and error...
i made lots of mistakes after he told me that i could eat most anything i wanted but was really strick with myself before. i know it is hard.....

Hey Deb, please do us a favor and ask her about the meat thing?  Also could you ask her about organic meatless meat products if they are no-no's too?
