Peanut butter protein balls?
Hello everybody it is me again and I have a request, does anybody have the receipe for p.b. protein balls. I saw it on here a while back before my surgery. Could really use them now. I am down 37.8 pounds since the 17th of July and have went down a pants size already. WHOOOO HOOOO! I am three weeks out and am looking forward to ground meat again. I have not eaten any meat since the 17th of July. I did however kick my coffee habit. I no longer want or need it in the am. God sure does work in weird ways. I was a 6-8 cup a day person before the surgery. Now none. Well I hope everyone is doing well and to all northlaners I want to get us together and start a support group soon. Please e-mail me so we can get schedules figured out ok.
Blessings to you all!

Kerri, I can't wait 'till I can make these, sounds like a great snack.
Protein Balls:
2 Cups Peanut Butter-(Jiffy or Skippy works best) 1 Cup Oatmeal (the big old fashioned oats) 1 Cup Protein powder-vanilla or chocolate (one that you like) 3/4 cup Splenda
Warm peanut butter in microwave for 40 seconds, add everything else and mix well. Roll into walnut sz balls. you can either refridgerate or put in tupperware sealed container Each ball is 10-12 g of protein.
Yummy! Those sound so good. I am a huge pb fan. However, I wonder about something. In my surgeon and nut's post op eating guide they talk about % of calories from fat and to stay pretty low on that. PB has most of its calories from fat so I am wondering if there is a potential for dumping on pb? Anyone know?

Brandy, I love peanut butter and eat it regularly... but, I have found that if I have 2 tablespoons at once (which is a serving) I will feel rather nauseated for a few hours. I think it must be the fat content (usually around 17 fat grams in a serving). I do just fine if I keep it to 1 tablespoon, which is generally enough on a pbj or with a banana. I really don't know if that nauseated feeling is dumping or not, but it certainly seems to be a response I don't care for. Almond butter does the same thing to me. I'm glad I can cut it back a little and still enjoy it.
I do love these pb protein balls, too.

Thank you to everyone who answered me. I wrote down the receipe for the pb balls and will be making them today. Brandy, my surgeon stated that I need to look at the labels forthe sugar content and jiff and Skippy natural have a very low amount of sugar. I eat the creamy kind no nuts. The peanut butter company? I have never heard of it. I will be a WALMART today and will look for it. Thanks everybody!!!!!

I had a moment of weakness last week and ate some peanut butter, It sat fine with me. I use it in my shakes to make ones that taste like peanut butter cups. I did do some looking at labels a couple days ago on peanut butter and found most are low in sugar but have around 17 grams of fat. I ended up buying 2 different types. One is made with fish oils and one is made with flax oils. They are both lower in fat. There is also a product that is an imitation PB but I am not sure where to find it yet. There is also a product that is just like PB but made with sunflower seeds I think called sunbutter. I need to also find that. Not sure but it haas to be lower in fat. I am taking a trip to the health food store this week as I get to start softs Thursday. I am gonna make PB balls wednesday night! lol
