sounds exactly like what my sister , Sugar went thru...with the drain tube and the low potassium and the infections. she wound up getting another drain tube to drain what the first one caused. she was one sick girl for quite a while and felt the same way about the surgery as you do right now. she spent a lot of time in the hospital and running back and forth to St Louis. Dr. del Tora was her doctor too. so sad that they wont see that the drain tubes are causing lots of problems...love and hugs will get my sister to write you and maybe has some words of encouragement for you. the only protein she could stand was the isopure ...maybe connection between infection and the smell of powdered protein. dont know.

Does Dr. de la Torre allow you to eat mashed potatoes? We were told no "whites" - white potatoes, white bread, white rice, white sugar, white pasta, white flour. I think it is good to avoid those because most of those are the things that got us where we were before surgery. It is interesting that different doctors have different rules.

Goodness Deb,
I'm so sorry you have had these issues.... my surgeon uses the drain tubes but he removes them BEFORE you leave the hospital! For that I'm thankful!
I'm so sorry you are having these problems! But am confident once you get thru this and down the road you will be right happy you had the surgery and be just as thrilled with all it has done for you like so many others are.... it's unfortunate that some have to go thru so much and others breeze by..... I wish we could all do the "breeze"!
I have been and will continue to pray the Lord ministers to you in a special way! He's in that bi~nez you know!
