I have been so lucky that I haven't had a lot of problems with nausea. Some gas, but not too bad. BUT, whoo-weee, found something that didn't sit well; I didn't throw up, but sure wished I could have. TUNA!!! I have been so looking forward to it too. I mixed it up in the magic bullet until it looked like goose poop! Took about 2 bites and knew that was it. I used light mayo, so not sure what the prob was. Oh well, I'll try it again in a couple of weeks.  Liz

Liz,
At two weeks out I was still on liquids so that may be why tuna messed with you. Recommend you try it again in a few weeks because it is soooooo handy.

Yep, it's  in the Group B foods for stage 2  it says pureed meats, and baby it was pureed and thin, like I said it looked like goose poop! I have done well with all the group a foods for stage 2 and that's why I thought I would try the group b foods, it has pureed vegs, unsweetened pureed fruits, pureed meats, scrambled eggs, egg whites or egg subs, and reduced fat cheese melted in eggs and mashed potatoes.

I'm kind of afraid of the scrambled eggs, even though they sound so good. Margie said some people have trouble with them and to try poached, don't know how to do poached, so I'll wait awhile.

my book says group B food are for week 4 and 7...and let me tell you that was a little early for them even then.
my book says that in Stage 3 weeks 4 thru 7 at this stage you can add selected item for group B.
i am going to email Margie and ask her to mail me that page or to scan it and email it to me so i can put in into my book as the latest ...

Jan,
Yes, they must have changed it. It says stage 2 (after initial post-op visit until the 4th week after surgery) Initially during this stage you add selection fromt the high protein liquids and group a foods. if after eating the foods from group a and you find that you are tolerating these foods, you my cautiously try group b foods.

Then it goes on to list the 3 groups. For stage 3, (weeks 4-7 after surgery). Begin to add foods that are a thicker consistency. This diet is commonly commonly called a "mechanical soft" diet.
Recommendations: chew foods thoroughly, avoid red meat, may include ground chicken, turekey, fish an up to four times daily. consuming and lean pork. Vegetables and fruits should be eaten cooked, not raw. Continue as in stage 2 to consume 6 cups fulied daily, a minimum of 3 cups should be high protein liquids. Do not drink liquids 30 min. before or after eating. Limit the amoun of food eaten to 1/4 cup at a time. You may eat up to four times daily. Consuming adequate protein is a priority, eat protein foods first in the meal.

If you can't get a copy, let me know, I hope to attend Monday night and will bring you a copy.
