usually you dont get milk till you have been back to see your surgeon....have you done that yet?
what does your list say that you can have.? keep your list of dos and donts plastered to the frig. till you get use to it. will save you a lot of time and worry.

My doctor allows milk from the beginning; however, the dietician told me I would need lactose free milk or soy milk because I wouldn't be able to tolerate milk. That has not been the case. I don't drink milk but use it for puddings and to make Cream of Wheat. Milk does tend to make me cough so I switched to Dairymate or something like that. I don't like the taste of soy.

Well Deb...hahah...I think I am lactose intolerant (sp?) Tonight I made one of my protein shakes and used skim milk like before and omg my ass smells worse than a run over skunk! My tummy hurts and the gas is horrible. CRIES...I LOVE milk. I had the bottle of soy in my hands too...knew I picked wrong. So just a warning for ya lol.
