newbies and "gross" protein drinks
Don't get rid of the stuff you don't like to soon, I bought 4 cannisters of the syntax fruit nectar prior to surgery (over 100.00) and they were fine . but after the surgery I couldn't even stand the smell of them, disgusting...anyway along the way maybe 2 1/2 mo.s out I was able to tolerate them again, the tea flavored one is still pretty gross, but the carribean cooler, peach, and strawberry kiwi, are all o.k now.... moral of the story your taste buds change and sometimes change again, wait it out. p.s I am curious about the 42g protein bullets, are you normally supposed todrink it all at once? I was told our bodies can only absorb 30g at a time, so that would be quite a waste of 12g .
I read on a site the other day and it said that even if your not real athletic and want more absorbstion of your protien drink to drink it immediately following your regular exercise routine (especially if you do an aerobic or cardio workout) and it will absorb more and easier...so after water aerobics or a cardio on the treadmill or whatever. drink your protien drink then and you are allowed to absorb more for the good of your body!!!
GOD is my ROCK! SUGAR
I didn't like the mixes I had pre-op until now and they are tasting good. I did try a soy mix from GNC and didn't like at all, but I've never like soy products. Thank goodness they exchanged it for me. I got whey protein, chocolate carmel and love it.
I bought 2 of the bullets weeks ago and still have one left. Don't like them at all, too sweet. My dietician said not to use the bullets because they found out at the annual conference patients do not absorb much of the protein. She told me not to have more than 20-25 grams of protein at a time.
