Does protein count as part of our liquid?

I'm wondering if the protein drinks we have to use count as part of our liquid requirements. I'm betting not now that I think about it since they're not calorie free. Oh well. My other question is, do you stop drinking 30 minutes before and after your protein drinks or just get them in between meals and water? I'm only 4 days out and am supposed to have 3-4 protein drinks per day so I'm getting them in between meals. Is that okay? Just looking for some reassurance/guidance.

Thanks!

Brandy at this stage you can count it if you like , it really isn****er but still liquid... no no need to stop drinking before or after you drink protein ...
just get them in any way you can. Are you able to get in 3 at this point????
you are doing great if you are able to have meals and protein drinks and water. lol

You lucky duck!  My surgeon does not let his patients have anything but the liquid diet for at least 1 week after surgery.  I am so hungry lol!

Jan,
Yes I am getting in about 60 grams of protein, plus the little amount of food I eat at mealtime (cream of wheat, cream soups, other full liquids) and drinking water constantly.

Thanks for the advice!
