Just got my surgery date.....
Congratulations on your decision. You are making a decision that will impact the rest of your life and make you a healthier person. It isn't easy - it's just a tool. However, it works if you work it and listen to what your doctor tells you. You will have many people try to tell you you've lost enough or too much or that the surgery won't work or their aunt's cousin's uncle had the surgery and gained all his weight back. Those things are all up to you and your doctor. Some people who don't follow the pouch rules do gain weight back - believe me I think I could if I didn'****ch it all the time. But, you are making the right decision for you and that's what you need to hold on to. I love my new life - diabetes free, hypertension free, high cholesterol free and about as normal as someone as weird as I am can be!!!! Yes, I'll always have Rheumatoid Arthritis but that's not something overweight causes - it just makes it harder on your joints. So, in that case I've taken some of the load off my knees and hips. You go for the prize of a new life. We'll all be here cheering you on.
