Missing chewing food
The one thing that helped me with the chewing thing was pinto beans---I got to actualy chew/mush them a little in my teeth. (taco bell in Carmel IN made alot of money off me while I was there after surgery) I got my pintos n cheese with no sauce because I was afraid it would hurt my new tummy. The pintos n cheese were the best thing I ever had in my life. lol I was really in need of FLAVOR. If you're on the meat stage now you can try turkey peperoni and microwave it for a min or so til it's crispy---it's like a chip then. But only if you're at that stage!!! You don't want to dump!!! I had a different surgeon and all of them have different food stages for different lengths of time. If I think of anything that is more chewy I'll let ya know. Hope this helps.

Angie
Thank you Angie and Jan, I have had an issue with bleeding. I got the hiccups really severe this past Sunday and threw up a blood blot. I was freaking out major!! I then went to Sedalia and Doc. Hornbostel scoped me again and stated that all was ok and it was probably a clot and a bled from it. I also had blood from the other end also? Any one else had this? I am to the cream soup and very thin things to eat. I am getting in my protein however it is so hard, I am not hungry or anything. I sip water all day so I know Iam getting my water but that even fills me up. I hope this is going to work, I have to have faith I guess. Well good tips on the pinto beans and thank you again. Love you guys!

Kerri,
Most of the missing anything is in your head. I also like to chew so it was an interesting time for me. I think you've had excellent suggestions and the only other thing I did was take parmesan chesse (grated not powdered in the green can) and sprinkle a layer over the bottom of a glass pie plate. Put in the Microwave for a minute or two, blot well with paper towels, cool and it is crunchy. I really loved those but you have to be careful because the calories are pretty steep. You are so new to surgery that you just need to know it's going to get sooooo much easier and better for you and when you start shopping for clothes in the "regular" section you'll be bouncing off the walls and ceiling. WalMar****ch out!!!
