6 month checkup was today :) So glad I had the sleeve done...
I am so happy with the last 6 months. sure the weight could come off a little faster, but Doc was very happy with weight loss... People with the sleeve usually lose slower, I lost 71 lbs since surgery, 105 total now.. Considering I have been stalled 3 of the 6 months, thats great. The surgery is a tool. I am working it well. I really have to watch my carbs, virtually any and I stall.. He said the long stalls are completely normal, body catching up from the shock. I just have to keep working it and exercising, i want to get as close to goal as possible.
Now if i can get my hair to stop falling out and the reflux to get better :) I know, want want want..
Really though, what all has changed for me.. Well, i went from size 32 tight pants to an 18, will be glad when i can fit in jeans right. Went from size 32 shirts to size 22 24.. Lost a ton of inches. CAN ALWAYS FIT IN A BOOTH :) :) Never will sit at a table again in a restaurant .. So much more energy, feel so much better, life is just better.. Thank you all for being here when I need you :)

Jan, you are 100 percent right on that. I need to be here more because I sure depended on information i got from people in the 9 months before my surgery.. especially the last few months. We all need to stay here when we can and help :)
On how they do the sleeve, they make your stomach smaller like in the RNY, but there is nothing done to the intestines, so no malabsorption at all. Also, no dumping. So it is basically restrictive, but there is a lot more data on it now, and lots of people have it done. The percentages are pretty close on the 2 surgeries. The main reason i wanted it done and it was recommended was because i have a chronic low potassium problem due to lupus and no one wanted it to get worse from not absorbing the 4 i already take a day :) I have been very happy with this surgery, Tammy H had it done also, and have had no illness or sickness at all.. Just losing hair. :) I do have refulx but have had it for years..
