We are out of WIC so I don't have whole milk with vit. D for my 14 month old.  I was wondering if any of you have given evaporated milk with vit. D in it to your little ones?  Last night I gave him half a bottle of the evaporated milk and added water.  I was just wondering if any of you knew.  Thanks and have a great day.  Oh yes, I wanted to let you all know that I got my labs done last week and my surgeon's office called and said that I was low in iron which mean that I could be anemic.  My B12 was also low so I began shots.  Today I will be starting a medication to up my iron.  Hopefully it will raise my energy level.  I can't believe I was low because I watch my diet and take a multivitim everyday (acually 2 per day).

Penni years ago that is what they use to give babies that were on bottles. they would dilute it down but dont know the ratio. I remember seeing my mom fix bottles for the younger ones with it. ....
Oh on your iron....take it with the multi vit. but not with your calcium....space that about 2 hours afterwards. had you not been taking b-12? hope you get to feeling better soon.

Penni,
When my middle daughter was one (she's almost 4 now) I gave her evaporated milk because I had read that it was easier to digest than regular whole milk. She drank it. It didn't make her sick or anything. I don't remember how I diluted it. I probably just added some water till it seemed like a good consistency.

Don't you hate it when you run out of WIC vouchers before your next pick-up? I usually have to buy two big cans of formula a month because we run out. That really hurts the budget.
