Probably TMI: Question for those who did the pre-op liquid diet!

Ok, sorry if it offends. . . but did you get diarrhea from the liquid diet? Since about noon, I have gone about 6 times and it keeps getting liquidier (not sure that's a word??) and liquidier. I feel like I could eat the salt shaker, so I have been doing the zero powerade to keep hydrated and am on my second  32 oz. container of water. My stomach is just gurgling away and off I go to the bathroom.

Just wondered if this was a normal occurence, or not???

Liz,   lol  I just asked Lori about this last night.  No I havent had any diarrhea, but I am supprised.  I figured Liquid in = Liquid out.  But not yet.  Thank God!   I would call the Dr. tomarrow & make sure that's ok, you don't want a stomach virus or dehydrated before surgery.  Maybe they will have you do something different.   (((Hugs)))  Angy

Liz, this is Kerri and yes you will get diarrhea.  It really sucks but youshould be ok.  What day are you on with the liquid.  I noticed that I had it the last three or four days.  I felt like I was peeing out my butt.  LOL  I am through my surgery 3 days post op and still on liquids and still a liquid stool.  I am not worrying too much since liquids is all I can take at this time anyway.  This will pass and good luck on your suegery!!!  I will be praying for you ok.

   I have had it off and on since Thursday ( i think! ) I dont have it regularly... I am glad! But, I would call your dr if I were you. The sugar isn't bothering me too bad like I thought it would. It is my craving of cottege cheese!! Which I try to think okay... I am not a big cc person esp. when you stop to think it is just rotten milk, right? LOL. But, I am dying for a taste. Go figure? But, I am really dreading the last day which is nothing but Magnesium Citrate, right? eww, I dont know how that is going to taste. I do want to add this is the hardest thing I have ever done this week is almost done!!!  Good luck to everyone and I will be praying for everyone!!

The general idea behind the liquid diet is to clean you out and shrink your liver or at least that was how it was explained to me.  It will get better, good luck, Raynetta
