Waiting on approval - Dr Price St.Lukes

Well, HOPEFULLY I will hear something soon.  My paperwork was supposedly submitted a week ago, but as of today, insurance didn't have anything.

I don't want to be a bug-a-boo, but I'm confused on who to talk to.  Some of you have mentioned having Sandi's email? I left her a voicemail today, but didn't get a call back.

I want to be sure it's been submitted, I had to wait FOREVER for my PCP to write the approval letter, I've been done with the supervised diet since the end of May!

I really wanted a Sept 15 date, it's looking like that won't happen now.

I'm so overwhelmed with trying to prepare, second guessing my decision and overall feeling uneasy.

Never second guess yourself because this will only confuse you more.  Once you make the decision to go with it press on.  When I was going through the insurance war I called and bugged them every day.  I called whoever I needed to call to get the job done.  It is your right as a person who pays for insurance to bug who ever you want to.  So, press on little trouper and you will be on the losing side soon.  Good luck and God bless, Penni

Dr. Price is my doctor.  My surgery was July 8th.  Sandy is the person that submits the insurance.  I can't remember her email but will get it for you.  My insurance only took 2 weeks to approve.

I know all about the feelings you're having.  I had them too.  At times I thought what the heck am I doing!  Thought maybe I should join WWs again but decided to forge ahead with the RNY.

Good luck!

thanks for the support, I will just continue waiting patiently.  that would be great if you could give me Sandy's email.

How are you doing?  Have you gone back to work yet?

Here is Sandy's email:  [email protected]

I am doing well, but having problems with eating.  Nothing sounds good or tastes the same as it did pre surgery.  Thelma told me last week I should be eating 3 meals a day with 2 oz. of protein at each meal and one shake a day.  There's no way I can eat that much food at a meal.  I don't like any of the shake mixes I had pre-op.  The toughest thing is getting in the needed protein.

I go back to work Monday. I'm kind of dreading it because I feel like everyone that knows why I've been out will be looking me over to see if I've lost weight.  I have lost 21 lbs. and I'm very happy about that.

thanks so much for the email, I appreciate it.

Hang in there, and just try to eat what you can.  21pounds is great!  I know what you mean about people looking you over.  I can imagine feeling the same way.  I hope I get a date soon, it's a been long year. I started this process in January!

keep in touch.  Good luck with work.

I plan on taking 4 weeks off, I hope that's enough, my job can be exhausting at times.  I worry about being tired.
