Such a dork! I am now able (at 3 mo's out) to take pills and such, but am I able to take pill/capsule forms of pain killers? I have been having monster ......(get it lol)  cramps and want to know if I can take my hydrocodone or ibuprofen, I finished off my liquid pain killer last month and haven't tried any other pills other than vitamins, for some reason I thought I read that they wouldn't work the same anymore, but maybe that's just for immedietly after surgery i just don't remember and can't seem to find reference to it in the "white binder"  thanks again I know I'm a pest , Susan

Hi Susan,

I can only tell you MY experience-Pre-op, I had been on Oxycontin and Vicodin due to Osteoarthritis and Degenerative Joint Disease. I went off those, after 6 yrs of being on them-to have this surgery. When I got that liquid tylenol 3-I flat out told my doc there was NO WAY that was gonna work. Figured it would be like a tic tac to me, considering how long I took the hard pain pills-but it DID work-and it worked really well. When I was 4 months out-I started having the worst pains in my back-and my PCP ordered some tests-seems like I have 6 discs in my lower back-completely gone. So, I did everything we could do-excercise wise and all of that-and it didnt work-since my dr says absolutely NO Ibuprofen products whatsoever-I couldnt take any anti-inflammatorys at all-They went back to putting me on regular pain pills. Yes-as with everything and anything tummy wise right now-you need to be careful of how YOU will react to it. Some stuff helps awesome in just half doses and then other, high power stuff, may not work at all....So-no matter what you do-be careful, ok?

I wish you the best and PLEASE-your NOT a pest!!! You can never ask too many questions or post too many comments. We love our peeps here!! Let us know what you find out, ok? Love and Hugs-Janet
