Feeling A Bit Off-Balance--Did You too??

Hi all! I am exactly two full weeks out from Lap RNY and I'm feeling a bit off-balance (Sort of like if your equilibrium is off- with an inner ear infection).  It's not constant and I'm not on blood pressure meds anymore, but have made an appt this week with my pcp, but thought that I would check it out with the experienced ones!!   I'm getting in the majority of my H2O and protein, so that shouldn't be an issue. Look forward to your experiences with this or something similar!  Thanks--Shelley

yes Shelley , it is a common thing, your center of gravity changes and keeps changing so you dont really have time to get use to one way and you drop more pounds .
When you finally stop losing i guess it will settle down.
My husband is always teasing me that i must be hitting the bottle again.

Oh Shelley, can we talk?!?  My surgery waws 5/31/05, RNY lap.  When I went back to school in August (I'm a teacher), people noticed that when I walked, I would lean over!  My back muscles were so weak, I had to relearn how to walk standing straight up!

What you are experiencing is normal, and will go away in time.

Good luck with your journey, and welcome to the loser's bench.

Patty

Thanks Jan and Patty! Appreciate your getting back to me.  It's just so weird feeling this way and t's hard not to think that this may be some type of a major problem.......like stroking out especially since just coming off of the blood pressure meds........but, since this sounds like a normal symptom that will subside, I'll just keep hoping that it goes away soon.....I haven't driving very far yet.......talk about feeling off-balance!  Thanks and I'm thrilled to have been able to join you all on that wonderful loser's bench!!  ----S.

Hi there Sheila, appreciate you letting me know that I'm experiencing the same effects as some of you others that have been at this longer than I.  It just gets a bit concerning when you're pretty fresh out of the surgery and you know things are definitely as they once were!  :)  I'm sure this will fade........eventually!  It's just like my equilibrium gets out of wack for a couple of seconds, then it gets back on track........!  Whew!  Thanks again, Shelley
