Cassie continues to improve.  She still has incisional pain, and tires easily.  Her IV's are out, she is off the oxygen.  On a full liquid diet, and dicharge is scheduled for Wednesday or Thursday.  She is having trouble eating.  She is not hungry, tries to force down a few bites, the has the dry heaves or vomits mostly bubly saliva.  She doesn't know what that is all about.  Any of you have any ideas?  Is this normal?  But all in all, she sounded a little better than she did Friday.  She appreciates you prayers and support.

Thanks Deb for the update on Cassie... my goodness that poor gal sure has been thru it... but I am continuing to pray a total healing for her and that she will find her groove so to speak with all the new adjustments. I am trusting that she will soon be posting all the wonderful things this surgery has done for her. Wishing the very best for her. bec

Hey Deb, thanks for keeping us updated.  I am so glad to hear that she is improving.  I am surprised that they took her IV's out.  They call that having the "Foamies"  I've read alot of people say that it starts at about 3 wks or so for most.  I think it's just a normal part of it.  kinda like dumping is.  I'm not sure why tho, if the new pouch doesn't like a certain food or what.  Sounds like her pouch is still terribly sensitive, with good reason.      Thanks again for letting us know.    (((HUGS))) Angy

sounds like she has the foamies, i use to do it a lot when i was a new pos op not so much any more. her new tummy is very very sensitive....tell her to eat tenny tiny bites that she chews up into mush before swallowing them. and even then there are some things that just dont go. like i still cant eat fried eggs ...other things too but she has to learn. no one is hungry after surgery so that isnt abnormal tell her to keep pushing on it will work out . be sure and get her protein thru the protein drinks that is most important thing. and drink drink drink her water

Hi Deb, I have been wondering how Cassie has been. I have continued praying for her speedy and uneventful recovery.  Is there anyway you could email me her address on here? I could you give mine first-but I am NOT a stalker-LOL-I just would like to send her a card to help cheer her????? I would appreciate it.  PLEASE tell her to talk to her surgeon-but I suspect that her new tummy will be xtra sensative for quite some time! Maybe she should try taking the teeniest tiny of sips.. Im sure she is-PLEASE give her our love. Thanks. Love, Janet
