Anything you suggest buying for post op patients?

I was wondering if there is anything I should get? I was told to buy the Magic Bullet. Is there really a difference in it and a regular blender? I mean, I dont want to pay $60 for something that will work just the same??? I saw a handheld blender that came with a cup that goes with it and it has 8oz, 16, 32 and so on markings on the cup. I already bought baby spoons and forks. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I am just wondering... I want to be as prepared as possible... I am going to stock up on the shakes this month and next month....

Hi there Lori!  I'll tell ya, I didn't buy a lot of stuff prior to surgery, simply because I figured I'd use what I had until I actually felt that I needed anything else.  Don't get me wrong, I picked up all the protein supplements (about a two-week supply of the proteins, a month or so worth of vitamins, and a couple weeks worth of broth and sugar-free jello) prior to leaving for the hospital.  But, this week, since I'm soon to start week two on my journey downward......I've made up the cutest grocery list of new things that I'll need!  HAHAHA!!  How exciting......it really is!!  :)  I actually picked up a blender/smoothy type gadget from QVC last year some time prior to even getting started on my surgery pre-work, and I'll tell ya, it made the best crushed ice after I returned home from the hospital (the ice just sounded good and what I'd been mainly munching on after surgery).  But, I haven't made any "protein smoothies" yet......but wow, it just gave me some new ideas!  :))  So, it's totally up to you as to what you want to stock up on or not.  Just remember.....some of our pre-op tastes change a bit post-op, so be careful about stocking up on some expensive stuff that you'll not care for later on down the road.  Just some thoughts......I'm only a week post-op, so trust me, I do not have all the answers........most likely some of our friends that have been post-op for a while will have some other great advice.  Best wishes----Shelley
